Seeing a movie on the big screen in the main theater should not be missed. The preserved historic charm of the theater is complimented with an amazing sound system and cushy new seats. Check the schedule for retro movie screenings.

The sidewalk alone is worth a visit! There are memorable imprints from actors, directors and others in the cement of premier releases of popular movies, including Star Wars. Very cool. The young staff is friendly and polite - such an asset to a property especially when there are more modern theaters in the vicinity to go to. The prices are... More

The main theater remains the Art Deco palace it always was, and the added side theaters are well-designed, small, and modern. Sound is first-rate. Snacks and drinks are good if not exceptional. Beer is available for some shows. With the variety of restaurants within a block, this is a great choice for dinner and a movie.

I went to some of my first movies ever in this theatre - now that it is redone, it is so classy and upscale. I love the older vibe of this place, there is so much history. I loved taking my boys here and giving them the experience as well. We saw Home Alone here for $5 during the holidays.... More

It was like taking a step back in time – going to The Senator to see a movie. I used to go frequently as a child when I lived nearby. The feel of the old theater is still there, but it has been completely renovated, updated and is a lot bigger than I remember. They now have 4 theaters for... More

Went to see Macbeth and although the movie just okay the theatre is like going back in time. You could feel the history inside. Although old it was kept up nice and made the time there enjoyable. Parking is an issue but otherwise it was nice.

We traveled here while on a visit to Towson University, which is right down the street conveniently and took our daughter to see The Martian. I remember hearing on the news about the renovations but just amazed when we got there. The seats are ultra comfortable, we were in the " big screen" room and the screen was covered by... More

The Senator Theatre is an historic movie theater that has been brought back to its former glory. From the old style ticket booth to the murals in the lobby, this is a part of our entertainment past. Additional, smaller screens have been added, so be sure you are getting a ticket for the featured movie in the main auditorium. Also... More

The Senator is Baltimore's historic grand old movie house located on York Road near Belvedere Square. I used to go here pretty frequently, but haven't had a chance since they changed hands and added the new auditoriums. My wife and I wanted to catch Ant-Man, and it was one of the theaters that was showing it so we headed up... More
