This is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two just because of the architecture. As a wedding venue it was stunning.

The library is gorgeous. From the lower level you are enveloped into a vertical teiring of books. The architecture and lighting is beautiful. I was there for an event where it was hard to pay attention due to the environment. Would definitely recommend going back.

Beautiful library. I was speechless upon entering. The card catalog smells wonderful. We took some great photos. Looked at some old books. It's fantastic.

We visited this library by accident. Not sure if it's because we didn't have any expectation, we just love it! It's very old-fashioned and a little unreal - we almost thought that we ran into the world of Harry Potter. Visit this place if you...More

Very limited hours and also limited access to the bookshelves (for good reason). But still a must for anyone who is obsessed with books and/or libraries. Also, if you are really into the history of crests or other nonsense british royalty crap, this is totally...More

You can drive past the library, turn the corner, park in a garage, and wend you way to the library. It may have the most beautiful interior of any building I've ever seen. Classic old time architecture that they don't do anymore. Instead they use...More

When you walk inside this other worldly space will take your breath away! Once inside take your time and look over the thousands of books in this gorgeous setting. It is locate near the Walters Museum and Washington Monument and some great restaurants.

When I say quick, I mean quick. You can't go up to the other floors. The only thing you can really do it take a few quick photos. We spent less than 10 minutes here. It is beautiful and as a book lover I really...More

There are librarians there. Perhaps if you call ahead and ask for a special tour - you may get it. Otherwise, you are indeed restricted to the first floor. It is a real shame. But as everyone has said - it is truly... More
