Just walk into the library and see the wrought-iron grill work in the stacks. It is jaw dropping. There is a great collection of books, but just walking in is a treat. Hearing all the rehearsal sounds from the students is part of the atmosphere....More

While this isn't an all day kind of activity, a short walk through of the gorgeous Peabody Library is encouraged when in the Mt. Vernon historical district. The staircase to your right when you come in the doors, spiraling up the Peabody Institute, is worth...More

This library is breathtakingly lovely and worth a visit. We were there as for an Artscape exhibition in 2015. The treasures they have are amazing but the structure itself is such a wonderful space.

The Peabody Library was simply beautiful. The reception was perfect with about 170 guests. Everything that my niece planned was completed without any issues.

In this library one can find a capsule to the past. It contains really antique books, pensil sharpeners, chairs and desks...a place that invites to read in silente and with deep concentration.

If you go to Baltimore, make sure you don't miss this outstanding library. The building is so beautiful and it's totally breathtaking to step into it. It is even more beautiful than the Long Room Library at Trinity College (and there are no crowds either).

There are librarians there. Perhaps if you call ahead and ask for a special tour - you may get it. Otherwise, you are indeed restricted to the first floor. It is a real shame. But as everyone has said - it is truly... More
