Ever been to NYC and visited St. Patrick's Cathedral on Fifth Ave? Well, this one in Savannah looks much the same in style and size. EXCEPT....like everything in Savannah's historic district, there is no urban traffic, noise, or crowding. This huge, spectacular church stands facing...More

This cathedral is beautiful! It is a must see when visiting Savannah. The 3 dimensional stations of the cross and stained glass windows are amazing. I’ve never seen a prettier church!

I visited this masterpiece during my motorized tour of the city. While I was only allotted 10 minutes to make my visit, my senses were overloaded by the moving beauty of this cathedral. It was deserving of its nickname the Sistine Chapel of the South.

Based on what I saw, there is no dress code. There was a great mixture of folks attending the mass (5:30 on Sat. night). Some of the did suits, but most had either sweaters or winter jackets. I wore jeans with a sweater and... More

There was a midnight Mass. Residents of Savannah told us that you have to arrive very early as the number of people are attending and late arrives end up standing outside for the Mass.
