Beautiful inside & out. Huge pipe organ was being played while we were there. Stained glass windows were breath taking.

What a stunningly beautiful church! The stained glass and murals are breath-taking. The 12 Stations of the Cross are meticulously carved, the expressions on each person’s face are amazing. This cathedral is even more noteworthy considering that there are so few Catholics here in the Deep South. Visit their website for the schedule of daily guided tours. This is a... More

The architecture of this church is gorgeous. Inside is it very ornate with stained glass, carvings and more stunning architecture. We are not religious people but could definitely appreciate the craftsmanship of this structure and the peacefulness inside. I wish they offered guided tours so those of us not familiar with this particular religion could understand some of the symbolism... More

I am from the south and I rarely see Cathedrals as old or as beautiful as this. There is a suggestion donation, but they also sell lovely postcards with profession pictures that you can buy to help with the expensive up keep of so grand a church. I am not religious but this place made me feel something special. The... More

We walked to St. John's sunday morning and stayed for mass. They were extremely welcoming even though I had my day pack and we were dressed for walking all day. Mass was beautiful and the Bishop was stellar. The church is stunning.

It was a nice warm place. Cathedral was probably restored and re-painted but internally it has the vintage architecture. one of the best cathedral I have visited in USA.
