We'd read some negative reviews so our expectations were low but we now think those visitors came simply because of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. If you are expecting something Hollywood you will be disappointed. The house is the final work in Savannah of noted architect John S. Norris and was restored and decorated by antiquarian and... We were unable to take a tour because they were booked so we took a self guided tour of the outside of the house. It must have been grand to live there. We enjoyed time in the park across from the house

Even if you have never read or seen "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," this tour is fascinating. The guide seemed very invested in the history of the house and the memory of its occupants.

It was interesting to see this house after reading about it in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. It's smaller than I imagined, but it is a lovely home. It has a spectacular staircase with a stained class skylight that is well worth seeing.

My husband and I both really enjoyed Max our tour guide, he was an expert guide with in depth knowledge of the property and it's contents as well as the history of the home's owners. We both saw Midnight in the garden of good and evil so it was fun to see some familiar spots in the tour.

I hadn't read reviews before we toured the Mercer museum, so I didn't know what to expect. We started in a hidden garden between the carriage house and the main home. I'm currently redesigning my garden at home, so I appreciated this part of the tour as much as the rest of the tour. The guide was personable and very... More

If you only do one house tour while in Savannah, make it this one. The house is meticulously maintained both inside and out, and has many historical period-appropriate antiques (as Jim Williams was infamous for having a great eye for these treasures). You will only tour part of the house as his sister still lives there, but what you get... More

If you think the exterior is gorgeous, take a tour of the interior? It's, absolutely, gorgeous and our tour guide was a young and very knowledgable lady. The next time we're in Savannah, we will be touring, again.
