Another lovely square in the Savannah historic district. The centerpiece is the large bronze statue dedicated the Les Chasseurs Volontaires de Saint Domingue, the largest regiment of soldiers of African descent who fought in the American Revolution. Great sense of history.

Established in 1790, Franklin Square was named in honor of Benjamin Franklin. This beautiful square also features a monument erected in memory of the Haitian volunteers who fought during the Siege of Savannah.

This was another cute square/park that we stumble upon. We really liked the monument of the soldiers in the center of it. The place is quaint, quiet and peaceful.

Savannah has about 2 dozen squares and this is the one laid out to commemorate Ben Franklin. It now also commemorates the African Americans who fought in the American Revolution.
