Out of all the areas to visit in Savannah, I think River Street is my favorite. There is something for everyone. There are tons of shops and plenty of restaurants.

Beautifully restored restaurant and shopping district where you can also watch the container ships leave the port. Enjoyed the WW2 Memorial site and the Savannah Bee Company. Must have a praline bear claw while there.

This is a must have for any tourist ...and for any local. There's a lot of great shops (candy kitchen) places to eat (boars head) and bars (wet Willis) this is a happening place during St Patrick's Day.

Lots of shops on River streets. Good food selection. Nice views of the river. Walking can be cumbersome because of the cobblestone streets. Good walking shoes are a must! There are all types of souvenir shops along the street. Hard to find good parking after noon unless you luck up on someone leaving the area. If you don't want to... More

A lot of history. Neat places to go day or night to eat, sight see, hang out, people watch, and have drinks.

River Street is like a snapshot of Savannah. It has 200 year old cobblestone streets left over from when it was a bustling port, historic(some same even haunted) old buildings, drinking pubs, plenty of restaurants that serve some of the most delectable dishes from the sea with a double helping of southern hospitality, candy shops, various other shops to include... Very relaxing with lots of shops to browse. Also, there are plenty of places to eat with a huge variety to choose from. Original large stones, steps and uneven brick pathways can be challenging if you have balance issues or need a cane or walker.

River street is a great place to eat and shop. The walks and street are cobble stone and uneven in many places but that goes with the history of the streets. Locals are either singing or playing a guitar. So many restaurants, it's hard to chose which to eat at. Prices in the shops are reasonable and there is a... More
