We walked here several times during our stay. Managed to see a parade while eating outside and enjoyed food and drinks in several bars. The vendors are friendly and their wares are eclectic. Lovely view

On a nice warm evening and after a day in a stuffy office a stroll along here is the perfect antidote. No need to rush, slow down and enjoy the surroundings. From boutique shops to restaurants and numerous bars, you should find something and somewhere to relax.

Shops galore! Enough bars and restaurants to fit anyone's taste. Our high spot was the ghost at Vic's Coffee.

Nice to be close to the water and watch the ships go by, but definitely on the touristy end. Make sure you take a tour out to the historic areas.

Got to see some very large ships coming into port and also a wooden ship of yesteryear. Great history here and atmosphere was relaxed. Many shops for the ladies.

Probably not our style. Hubby and I are late 50's, and the area appeals to a younger set. Plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry. We found a couple of places that appealed and made purchases. However, some neat buildings and history.

We spent a morning here wandering the shops. What friendly people! And unique shops! Not to mention the views of the river! Love the brick streets! Looks like it's straight out of history.

O.K. this area certainly draws in the tourist but it is much more than t-shirts shops and trinkets. Great history from end to end and some first rate dining. No shortage of bars or live music along the way which also seems to draw a lot of locals. Had the good fortune of being there on "first Friday" which often... More

River street is a great way to eat and shop with blocks of little boutiques and restaurants. Must see and do.

We have visited Savannah many times since our son lives there. River Street is ok to see one time, but really just extremely a tourist stop. Many shops, out door markets, restaurants, artists.
