We came mid afternoon. It’s a small fort. There was a live re-enactment that was excellent. I highly recommend this fort.

Make sure you have a tour guide take you around. They are very informative and it is exciting when you get to see and hear a live cannon fired off. The history alone about Old Fort Jackson was very interesting.

Cannon firing presentations include a history of the site and its significance. When kids visit, we try to make our programming as interactive as possible, including mock drill and marching.
