We went specifically to watch the cannon being fired but the character actor gave us so much more. We got a nice history lesson about the entrance to Savannah and the military strategy that went behind defending it. Plan on spending about 1-2 hours here....More

Arrived just when they were firing off the cannon, very entertaining reenactment...nice fort with a great view. I highly recommend to be there when they do reenactments, great fun for kids as well.

This was a great place to visit. I never knew of the history. Great trip just outside of the city. it was a bit chilly, but we really enjoyed walking around and witnessing the musket firing.

Be sure to catch cannon fring! He also enjoyed hands on things they had. He had been studying wars. Loved all the information.

We really enjoyed visiting Old Fort Jackson! There were plenty of displays inside each of the rooms visited. There was a presentation of how at the time it was occupied they prepared to shoot the cannons and the firearms. Parents and children enjoyed this demonstrations....More

We came mid afternoon. It’s a small fort. There was a live re-enactment that was excellent. I highly recommend this fort.

Cannon firing presentations include a history of the site and its significance. When kids visit, we try to make our programming as interactive as possible, including mock drill and marching.

Hello, Admission is $8 +tax for adults, and $4 +tax for children (ages 2-12). Children under 2 are free.

Unfortunately Old Fort Jackson is not accessible via public transportation. Guests without their own transportation have been know to utilize Uber or a taxi service to visit our site.
