We enjoyed this site. The history of Savannah, is so much. Today we will be going to the train museum hoping it's another good site to visit on a 3 day site pass

Good overall history of Savannah mostly presented on reader boards. They do have an interesting old steam locomotive. There is a movie on Savannah that you can view without paying for the museum. Spend your time in the historic district and if you have an hour or so to spare go to this museum.

If you go to this museum try to be there at a time when you can participate in the Oct. 9, 1779 battle re-enactment; this is absolutely the highlight of the experience. The participation opportunity makes it all the more fun than just looking at the maps---tactile imagination of what it was like----that's the ticket! As a minimum, do try... More

My husband and I went as part of the 3 park package. We truly enjoyed the presentation about the revolutionary war and the battle that took place in Savannah. The presenter was dressed for the presentation and was super knowledgeable.

The introductory movie provides valuable background to the significance and history of Savannah. Later in the self-guided tour we were invited to join a live re-enactment of aspects of the Battle of Savannah concluding with an actor firing off two shots using a flintlock musket which caught everyone's attention!

We bought tickets to see the History,Children's and Railroad Museum for 3 adults and a 2 year old $60 + A TOTAL 100% rip off for a nasty museum. The Children's museum is just a big junkie play area full of very dirty nasty toys. Nothing historical to speak of. The Round house is just as plain as can be.... More

Great museum with good historical artifacts, Best to pair with the reenactor tour inside and outside with the battlefield park next to the museum, and the other close railroad museum. The museum has some good cultural history of the area displayed as well.

I dropped by the museum during my four day visit to savannah. I just happened to time it right for the start of a re-enactment event and we jumped right in. It took a moment to get used to it, but the enthusiasm of the two guides (Aaron plus his colleague) soon swept us up into the story. The presentation... More
