- Life2TravelCharlotte, North Carolina1,640 contributionsGreat atmosphere but not my favorite mealWe had high expectations for the Olde Pink House and saved it for our last night in Savannah. The ambience is wonderful and is different in each area of the house. We were seated in the poker room and it had a cosy atmosphere, perfect for the rainy evening. Our waitress, Alissa was friendly and helpful and encouraged us to walk around after our meal. Our favorite rooms were the basement, poker room, study and the office. I would say our meal was good but not outstanding, it was our least favorite of our three nights in Savannah. I didn't care for the artichoke goat cheese fritters and found the strawberry salad to be drowned in vinegar. The scored crispy flounder was tasty but despite the fish being scored, I struggled to not consume bones. The highlight of the meal was the praline basket for dessert. The house is historic and we loved the environment but not the meal. I would give it another try to see if it was an off night or just what we ordered.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 October 2023
- FJT2011Saint Louis, Missouri115 contributionsRecommended! On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in October, my friend and I hopped off our trolley tour to have lunch here. Since we didn't have reservations, we waited about 45 minutes for a "first available" table or seat at the bar. We got a table next to the bar. With the doors to the outside diners and sidewalk wide open, and the sunshine and air, it was an excellent atmosphere. Patrick was our excellent waiter, bringing my friend her She Crab Soup appetizer quickly. Our food did not take long. Water and soft drinks served in crystal glasses, white tablecloths and cloth napkins, it is such a classy place to be. My friend got the cheeseburger and I got the pork tenderloin medallions which came with a maple sauce on the side. It also included collards and sweet potato fries. It was all so delicious but I couldn't finish it. Patrick invited us to check out the dark, historic and haunted basement bar, and then to go up to the "top" floor (second level) to see the ballroom, which was jaw-dropping as it was being prepared for a wedding reception. There is an elevator in the building to check everything out.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 23 October 2023

- Doreen Z12 contributionsLove This Place!! Historical location and fabulous food!Celebrated my daughter and son-in-law's 10th wedding anniversary. Made reservations for this event. We were provided a private room in the basement by the bar. The medium rare filet steaks were cooked to perfection. Asparagus, baked potato and salads were excellent.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 December 2023

We came to town with our dog who goes everywhere with us so when I made the reservation I asked to be seated outside. From the minute we walked in a young gentleman ( a Ryan Gosling look alike) greeted us and our pooch and was excellent for the rest of the evening. Casey is Charming, helpful, knows his menus and wine- terrific. The food is great the ambiance amazing and Casey topped the entire evening off. Everything was perfect. From the second we walked in the door we were made to feel as if we were old friends. The service from our server, Emily, was superb. My wife's allergies were handled expertly. The food was, amazing. It's easy to see why this restaurant is such a favorite. We will certainly go back anytime we are back in Savannah. Thank you for an excellent meal and a great time.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 February 2024
- KaraXYZNew York City, New York156 contributionsGo to The Pink HouseWe loved this place from the moment we arrived! The hostess gave us a friendly greeting, and we were shown to our table right away. There are so many rooms to explore, and I took the time to wander through all of them. Diners ranged from families with kids to women dressed in flapper outfits, really fun scene. As everyone mentions, the whole fish special was really something else! And the drinks have great names, and they are all wonderful. The waiter offered a short history of the building. Overall, a not-to-miss restaurant when you’re in Savannah.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 March 2024
- Moorej61Dearborn, Michigan25 contributionsA must visit! We went here for a date night. The food is brought out at a pace that allows you to enjoy what’s in front of you. The buttermilk biscuits are savory. The filet and twice baked potato is the best entree I’ve ever had. The Waitress, Caitlin, was able to make recommendations, offered a perfect wine pairing and was very friendly and knowledgeable. A manager came to check on us and was very knowledgeable as well. The environment is moody and romantic. Music floats through the air up from the basement. We’re so grateful we were able to visit. Make a reservation early!! Enjoy every bite.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 March 2024
- NoraatcSudbury, Massachusetts39,761 contributionsA gem of a historic mansionI posted a separate review for the Olde Pink House Restaurant, 5 stars of course, but the mansion itself deserves the same 5 stars. Do allocate some time before your lunch or dinner to see its spectacular rooms, some of them original and others rebuilt. Someone had a brilliant idea to make this treasure of a mansion the most popular restaurant in Savannah. Such a beauty… and such a food…Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 March 2024

I was told it would be good but the meal, as well as the ambiance and decor exceeded my expectations! The wait staff and manager were attentive and checked in on us several times! I had the jumbo sea scallops along with the baby greens salad with champagne vinaigrette dressing! Be sure to also have the Pink Lady lemonade! Absolutely amazing. We will be back!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 March 2024

My wife and I had just flew in to Savannah from Philadelphia, on our way to Hilton Head Island for a week of relaxation and site seeing. We landed at 10am, picked up our rental car and decided to see Old Savannah and the River district. Time went by fast and soon it was time for lunch. My son had recommended the Olde Pink House, so I turned on the GPS and we were there in 10 minutes. Street parking and a very casual dress code for such an exquisite restaurant was unbelievable. It was like stepping back to the 1700's. The service was very good and informative. We were asked if we would like to hear the history of the Olde Pink House, which we did and learned quite a bit about the Mansion. For lunch I wanted to have something Southern so I ordered a crab cake prepared between two slices of green tomatoes topped with a very tasty relish; it was delicious. My wife had the grilled salmon with asparagus, that was also very good. The servers were dressed appropriately for the times. After lunch, which was priced very reasonably, we were offered a tour of the wine cellar and vault in the basement. What an unexpected luncheon experience, a perfect way to start a Southern vacation.

My friends did some research before coming in town and we did agree that this place looks promising. We could not get a reservation and we decided to sign ourselves in and wait for a table and we waited for an hour.
The food was not terrible, but when one pays such price and waits in line for an hour, one expects the food to be good. But our experience did not meet our expectations. Here is a list of dishes we had:
1) beignets: the best food we ordered. We do recommend this. It tastes like it is from the ocean and very fluffy and soft.
2) gazpacho: good, would order again
3) jalapeno magaritta: a bit too syrupy for me. I could only finish half of it because I felt like I was drinking syrup.
4) gumbo: rice was not cooked . flavor lacking. The collard greens that came with it was nice but the grit that came with it had no taste at all and needed seasoning
5) southern sushi: a cute concept. It's grit wrapped in nori seaweed paper and then battered up and fried -- too rich
6) fried whole fish: with an asian sweet and sour dressing and seasoned with garlic. Tastes okay but seems out of place in a restaurant like this.

This is a popular restaurant located in a beautiful historic house built in 1771. The restaurant is booked weeks to months in advance if you want to eat here for lunch or dinner. I popped by on a Tuesday at lunchtime hoping to drop in and was laughed at. But they told me to just come back after 2pm to eat at the bar, which is what the locals do. I returned at 2:30pm, and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated.
I was given a leaflet about the history of the house and encouraged to walk around inside the house while I waited. I did just that, and took pictures of the beautifully appointed rooms, each of which was decorated with a different theme. There was also a beautiful garden patio area.
The afternoon gap menu is not as extensive as the lunch or dinner menu, but most of the popular dishes were on offer and everything looked good. The she crab soup is a popular favorite as well as the fish. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and the grilled pork tenderloins with a bourbon molasses sauce, and they were the best pork tenderloins I've ever had. The drinks were delicious, too. The service was good and the people were friendly.
When I left at 5, there was a LONG line that stretched down the block, and I believe those were people who HAD reservations...

I ate here with my husband and another couple earlier this week and we were blown away. The main floor restaurant was fully booked so we chose to eat in the lower level tavern. The atmosphere was cosy and authentic and the food was amazing. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal - the guys had fried chicken that was the moistest they had ever had. They are both big eaters but the meal was almost too much food for them! I would go back in a heart beat.

I asked my husband for olde pink house for my birthday dinner. Starter I had salad and he had she crab soup. For main course I had the flounder and he had the lobster. We paired it with redwine and signature cocktail. The meal is really good. We love the Tavern, dark theme and candlelight creates a romantic ambience. Kenny the pianoman is a delight hes so talented we requested a song. A couple was dancing to a love song. What a beautiful birthday I had.. Couple weeks later we came back and brought our friends ones celebrating her birthday in advance they all enjoyed it as well. Cant wait to go back! 💯🥰

This was our first visit but it will not be our last, from the moment we were greeted, we knew this was going to be a great experience. We were introduced to Craig the GM who made sure every aspect of our night was perfect. The entire staff observed and maintained appropriate COVID protocols putting us at ease as we had drinks in the downstairs bar and then were shown our table in the Club Room of the restaurant.
Chris was our waiter for the evening and is absolutely knowledgeable about the entire menu and wine list as he is a culinary student himself, he steered us to the best fried chicken we have ever had! It is a must try as it is marinated in buttermilk and hot sauce but it’s mild flavor is delightful. The fried pork chop is equally as flavorful and served with an awesome side of mac and cheese and collards that is best described as a southern delicacy. The wine list is comprised of some great favorites at a reasonable markup. We went with the Belle Glos Pinot and were not disappointed.
The entire experience was 5 stars and we look forward to our next visit to try some of the other local fare on the menu.

If you are visiting Savannah, make this your top priority. I went here 11 years ago and I have been saying for 11 years that the best meal that I have ever had was at the Olde Pink House. So, when my best friend and I came back this October this was our top priority. It didn't disappoint. It was as amazing as I remembered from back then. I got the shrimp, and it was amazing. My only suggestion is that if you planning to visit, get your reservations NOW. We booked reservations months ago, and we could only get reservations at 9:30. Also, our waiter was amazing. He was very polite and very engaging which I appreciated.

The atmosphere and food were amazing. Our server, Ariel, was the best by far. From her knowledge of the history of the Pink House to her explanation of the menu that made your mouth water, she truly showed her Southern Hospitality. Will definitely return.

Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food was top notch. I visited the restaurant earlier in the day of our reservation in order to see the rooms and know what I wanted to request for seating (Seating is first come, first served), and it was hard to choose! No matter where you end up, you are sure to have a great experience. We were here for a month and ate in many good restaurants, but The Pink House stood head and shoulders above the rest. We will be back!

We had high expectations when we dined here, but sadly, the restaurant did not come anywhere close to them. This was very unfortunate especially as we spent more than $150 in this establishment.
We booked a dinner reservation here to celebrate our anniversary. Our server did not seem genuine compared to the other server for the table next to us. We would be in a conversation and he would end it abruptly without excusing himself, leaving us hanging and creating an awkward moment.
While we heard the dining manager check on the tables next to us (who arrived several minutes after we did), she completely ignored us. She never approached us to see how our experience was. This was extremely disappointing. Had she checked on us, she would have known that we got charged for a cocktail that was barely touched.
We ordered a cocktail called “Planters Punch;” I might as well have just drank straight from the bottle. The way it tasted, I dont know how it could have included the orange and pineapple juce that it claimed to have. We took a sip and did not touch it the rest of the night, and our server did not mention anything about it despite seeing that glass full. To make it worse, when the check came (the glass still full), we were charged for it ($13).
The food was mediocre.
We really had high hopes for this restaurant after reading all the positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was nothing like them.

We are visiting in October and would like to eat at the tavern (bar?) on a Thursday night. Is it all walk in (no reservations) in the tavern and what are the best hours for two to find seats somewhere?

Do you need reservations for the wine cellar?
Written 8 March 2024
I would recommend reservations for dining. I am not sure about the wine cellar

My understanding is that there is a side entrance allowing access to an elevator. I would check first by calling the restaurant.

Unless you go to the downstairs bar area. They allow walking and it’s a quaint atmosphere.

Dress code is casual dress as far as I could tell. We were four women traveling together, and all wore Capri pants with nice tops. I don't remember seeing any men wearing shorts

We are visiting for the first time and are looking forward to an intimate dining experience. Is there a specific location in the restaurant that would be good to request?
Written 20 April 2018
Yes there's a spot in the wine cellar for one table. It is lovely.

Does the Olde Pink House have an accessible entrance? I see steps in the front of the building? I m wondering if there is another entrance with a ramp?
Written 8 July 2017
Once you know, please share! This is too much of a major landmark for them not to have a solution. Food purveyors would certainly not make deliveries using the front steps. There is no doubt a service entrance at street level - but I would call ahead to make arrangements. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
