Like so much of Savannah...you are welcomed to the park with a statue/public art. Great community park with gorgeous lake views. There is a walking path around the perimeter which gives you great views of the lake, park, etc. There are quite a few picnic shelters, including one large shelter for at least 50 people in center of park. Nice... More

I love this park. Being a homeschool mom, I love to take my children here so we can feed the birds and learn about the different species of birds and boy are their alot. Birds are huge and people friendly. Will literally eat right out of your hands if you like that type of stuff. I love the tennis courts.... More

A very nice park and trails for walking and running. Twice around the lake and you get in three miles... Tennis courts, picnic areas, fishing and playgrounds, all free and easily accessible to Savannah and out of town families. Enjoy it!

My son brought my husband and I here, as it's a favorite spot for him for fishing. I loved it! When we went there, the park was bustling with all sorts of activities. There were groups of people who seemed to be celebrating, cooking out, and having fun with their kids. Plenty of people were on the walking trails, the... More

The bathrooms are in dire need of an overhaul from years of use and weather effects. The walking trail was updated to include a soft rubber cushioned running path. There is a skate park being built on site. Children's playground, basketball, tennis courts and duck feeding are always popular. Enjoyed returning for a morning walk when I was in town.

This is our go-to spot! I've also reviewed Skidaway Island State Park and Oatland Nature Center - and of course, there is always Forsyth Park and River Street in Savannah itself. But Lake Mayer is our favorite. A mile-and-a-half around the lake with amazing waterfowl and sunning turtles to keep you company along the way. The path is beautifully maintained... More

We wanted to walk with our dog on the trail in this park but there are big signs posted all over -alligators in lake. The signs also indicate a dog exercise area -on leash- right next to the lake area with the "alligators in lake" sign. ???? I thought Savannah liked dogs. Needless to say we didn't get out of... The park was excellent. We saw ducks, basketball courts, volley ball area, the pavilion was large enough to accommodate every body.

My family loves this park. We visit it each time we travel to Savannah. The track around the lake is great. The tennis courts, basketball courts and play ground are also very good. Fishing, picnics, remote control cars...you name it, you can do it there. And, don't forget the wildlife.
