This beach was nice and clean but incredibly crowded. There are tons of restaurant and souvenir shops right off the beach. Parking is limited, and you have to pay either at meters with quarters off the beach or with a card in the beach parking lots, which fill up quickly. The businesses don't let you use their restaurant or give... More

Nice fishing pier, soft sand, swings at every boardwalk entrance, very clean. Great spaces for families to walk, ride bikes or enjoy the surf.

I visited both South and North beach during my stay on Tybee, and i greatly preferred south. It was less crowded, more relaxed and had softer sand compared to crushed shells at north beach.

I liked the north beach area better to relax and see the lighthouse. South beach is better for swimming but seems to be a popular spot. Loved our visit to Tybee Island.

tide was not in, too cold to go out but restaurants in area are pretty good. Stingrays for sure. You gotta go there.

The South Beach is the busiest beach on Tybee. Parking is hard to come by and so is the blanket realestate. The North beach is the locals secret. Also, BAY WATCH was filmed here at the South Beach area.

The beach was closed for the most part so it took a while to get on. It happened to have been a bit cold so by the time we got on the beach and through the construction it was freezing and wasn't as enjoyable. It is pretty though and I'm sure nice in the summer just not in the winter.

Easy beach to get to. Parking is nearby (metered, I think 25 cents for 15 minutes). Beach is hard sand at low tide. Quiet. Breezy. Not very good for finding sea shells. Local scavengers usually get the best pickings. I found it great for a long, leisurely relaxing undisturbed walk.

We spent Thanksgiving Day here. It's a great clean beach and not overly crowded and plenty of waves & seashells for everyone.
