This place is hopping and full of valuable information. The staff is very friendly and answered all of my questions and those who were ahead of me. The parking lot serves as a starting point for many bus tours and other activities. Wide range of tourist brochures and information. Small concession stand and also a gift/tourist stand. Don't wander around... More

The staff were helpful in starting your visit to Savannah. Lots of literature to help your walk though the town. Be careful of the parking you must be out by 6:00pm or you will get a ticket.

Nice shady place to sit outside waiting for our tour. Inside, typical train station decor with numerous steps to climb to the information hand-out center and poorly kept bathrooms. Pay-for history films along the interior corridor and even less sanitary bathrooms.

Everything you ever need to know about a visit to Savannah you can get here. Ed went out of his way to help us which made all the difference in our choices and how we experienced the various tours and offerings. Thank you, Ed!! Also, the maps and all the brochures and magazines are quite helpful.

The old train station is very interesting and they have a train museum across the street. They have displays to view and a gift shop. You can also eat in a train car. This is all undercover in case of bad weather.

there was lots of information to orient yourself and I bought I little guidebook in the bookshop that was a self guide tour of the historic district and in particular the squares. The center was located across from our hotel which made it convenient

Free parking is in a fenced off gravel area next to the railroad museum. We got info for tickets for ghost tours and the series of museums near the visitor center. Bathrooms, and a nice picnic area next to rail cars.

We visited this center after our Old Savannah Tour. This museum has a lot of information about the history of Savannah, their battles, famous people and culture.

There are several visitors centers around town. We went to the one on River Street near the Hyatt and the one up by City Market. We also bumped unto a couple of ambassadors who walk the streets helping with maps and information. They are a very friendly group and make you feel right at home.

I'm a resident but recently went with visiting family members to the Visitors Center. It's housed in an old railroad station that still has all of the original architectural charm and parking is easy. We were immediately warmly greeted by members of their knowledgable staff. They answered all of our questions and made some recommendations without being too pushy. Their... More
