We enjoyed our visit. Our docent was very knowledgeable of the cottage and it's inhabitants. It isn't a big place so the majority of the time was spent listening to the stories of history. I have no pictures to add because no picture taking is allowed.

I was the only person going through this wonderful museum at the time of my visit which was awesome! Ronald, my docent was very knowledgeable about the local history and in particular, gave me an in depth overview of what to expect in each room of the museum. I learned so much about the local African American History in Savannah.... More

A small but excellent museum chronicling black history in Savannah. Our docent was very friendly and knowledgable and there are a number of very interesting genuine artifacts related to the progression of black life in Savannah from slavery to the present time. I'm glad I went and encourage you to visit.

I was the only person going thru this intimate museum so I had pretty much a private tour guide, Ron. This is right at a stop on the hop on hop off trolley, and a worthwhile stop, and the cottage museum dedicated to the preservation of African American history and culture. It was interesting to learn the history of the... More

The King-Tisdell cottage tour was wonderful. If you want to have a historical immersion experience in African American culture of Savannah this would be a great choice. Praise W.W. Law for his vocation in preserving this cottage and the historical neighborhoods around Savannah. What a gem. The curator was passionate and animated in her historical facts. You really get a... The King-Tisdell Cottage is the epitome of the African-American experience in Savannah. The story of the owners is charming and truly representative of the experiences of African-Americans in Jim-Crow era Savannah. The exhibit dedicated to W.W. Law is superb and shows why he truly was the premier preservationist of African-American history in Savannah. Museum director Vaughnette Goode-Walker has done a... More

This is located at stop 6 on the Old town trolley. A lot of love and care went into restoring and preserving the African American Savannah history in the King-Tisdell Cottage. The curator gives a wonderful tour.
