Devoted to the art of today, the contemporary Jepson Center links Telfair’s future with its past, unifying the museum’s three distinct sites. The building, designed by Moshe Safdie and opened to the public in 2006, features over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions of contemporary art and installations of works from the permanent collection. Educational programming takes place in the 220-seat auditorium, community gallery, education studios, and ArtZeum—a unique, 3,500-square foot interactive gallery for children and families.

Visited the Jepson on a 3 for one ticket with their two other sites (great deal!) The Jepson Center makes a bold statement in Historic Savannah with a design by Mishe Safie. Enjoyed their temporary exhibits and their children's interactive area is impressive. Quite the contrast to the more traditional art center across the street but both are will worth... More

I more or less stumbled upon this and was glad I did. The top floor is dedicated to an interactive space for kids and younger people, which would provide a rest for weary parents. Nicely laid out and interesting exhibits.

This beautiful building, designed by Moshe Safdie, had 3 terrific shows when we were there - Complex Uncertainties: Artists in Postwar America, The Tsars’ Cabinet: Two Hundred Years of Russian Decorative Arts under the Romanovs, Watershed: Contemporary Landscape Photography and my favourite, Stick Men: Savannah Folk Art Canes and Wood Sculpture. These canes were charming and original and defined found... More

Gorgeous building. Convenient locale. Unless you are into modern art just skip it. To be fair we knew that going in, but had the 3 pack for Telfair sites and it was right across the street. Gun to head; if I had to pick a positive for the exhibits, the Russian artifacts (mostly decorative items) were okay.

This building is beautifully designed, it is no wonder as the architect Moshe Safdie is responsible for its unique design. The design allows you to walk through each floor and experience the art comfortably, not as in so many museums where paintings are crowded next to one another. I was wanting to see the girl with the bird bath from... More

The building is dramatic and lovely but there just wasn't that much to see. I did enjoy seeing and reading about the Bird Girl statue. There are other museums and sights close by, so you might want to go if you're in the area.

The large, white, modern building that houses the Jepson Center doesn't fit in with the surrounding historic district. It is, however, a very interesting museum with changing exhibits. We had just missed an exhibit on Elvis, sorry to say, but in its place were Russian artifacts. There is apparently an excellent cafe on the premises but we did not get... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting both The Telfair Museum and the Jepson Center. After days of touring lovely homes and historic sites, we chose a rainy afternoon to visit both museums. The Telfair Museum is housed in a spacious former mansion of Alexander Telfair. It was passed down to his sister Mary (who like so many wonderful Savannah... More

Anyone wishing to see the iconic statue of The Bird Girl from the movie Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil will have to come here and pay $20 each. This was very disappointing.
