Devoted to the art of today, the contemporary Jepson Center links Telfair’s future with its past, unifying the museum’s three distinct sites. The building, designed by Moshe Safdie and opened to the public in 2006, features over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions of contemporary art and installations of works from the permanent collection. Educational programming takes place in the 220-seat auditorium, community gallery, education studios, and ArtZeum—a unique, 3,500-square foot interactive gallery for children and families.

I was surprised to see such an extensive collection of Rodins along with other notable artists in a museum in a smaller city. Our city's museum is nowhere comparable. A lot of people go for the Bird Girl--that's why we went. But we were delighted...More

Thank you for your comments. We are fortunate to be able to showcase many wonderful exhibitions at the Jepson Center. We are glad that you enjoyed Rodin; one hundred years after his death, he remains one of the influential figures in modern sculpture. Telfair Museums...More

We stumbled on this place and spent the hot afternoon inside. Lots of cool stuff for the kids to do and it would suit a 2 year old to a teenager with the variety of interactive exhibits they had. Would definitely recommend. It was free...More

Big enough to have several permanent and rotating exhibits, but small enough to keep you from going into overload. Gorgeous structure that somehow does fit in at the edge of old-town. A superb Rodin exhibit was there at the time. I think you can visit...More

This is the type of place that will not appeal to everyone. I was not thrilled by it, however, if you are in to this kind of thing, it is done very well. They have worked hard to make it interesting to most people.More

Thank you for your comments. While the Jepson Center may not have appealed to you, the Telfair Academy and the Owens-Thomas House might have been a better fit. All three sites are included with your admission ticket, so if one of the newest museums in...More

This amazing building would be worth the price of admission alone, but it is chock full of beautiful exhibits thoughtfully presented. We loved the children's section that shared the joy of architecture. There was a whole section of electronic art which was fascinating. One gallery...More

Thank you for your comments. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your visit to the Jepson Center, and in particular, our Generation exhibition. The Bird Girl will be moving early next year into an exhibition of art related to Bonaventure, so please come back again!

I would recommend this museum to other tourists. The special exhibits at the time of our visits, William Wegman and Kahlil Gibran, were well done. More space geared to children than in most small art museums.
