Only 8 miles off I-25, but what a trip back in time. For forty years, this Fort had a tremendous... read more

This was another interesting place to visit. We learned about the Fort and how it evolved through the years. Our tour of the ruins was cut a bit short by a thunderstorm, but that's just life. The rangers and volunteers were awesome and answered all...More

This historical site is by far my favorite place in New Mexico. It's massive, old, and interesting. The adobe buildings mixed with informational plaques makes the experience educational and fun. Plus, I loved seeing the wildlife in the area too.

This was part of a road trip with the 8-yr old grandson in September. This is one of the largest and best preserved old West Forts in the region. Others may be more interesting for their part played in the westward expansion of the U.S....More

This place is really cool. They have tried to preserve it the best they can. It's really cool to see almost all three sites of this fort. They have the star shaped earthen fort the one closer to the mountains that you can see but...More

We certainly enjoyed visiting here, it’s also a good stop for the family. It’s located about a half hour north of Interstate 25. The ruins of the fort are extensive and you can walk the trails among the old adobe walls. It also has a...More
