I love this place because of its jogging trails. Have also seen many families enjoying the facilities, (playground, picnic areas, trails, clean restrooms).

Good place to take out you canoe after a run on the Rappahannock River, but a good distance to the parking lot. Covered tables, kids playground with swings and other playground equipment. The fields are set up for soccer.

It's a good place to unwind along the banks of the Rappahannnock River. This is the site of the Fourth of July fireworks display for the City of Fredericksburg each year.

Not on route 3, but they can go to the park downtown and of course on leashes, its a little tight so most pooches stay in the park area.
