Cool place to visit. Very out of the way so make it worth your while by taking your swimsuit (wish we would've) and do the hot springs while you're there. Dinner at the lodge was surprisingly affordable, too.

Not huge but still interesting to place to visit if you are going to Chena Hot Springs. Appletinis in carved ice martini glasses will knock your socks off and don't recommens you drive for a while afterwards!

Beautiful craftsmanship in a large building kept at 25 degrees. But don't worry, warm parkas are provided. Where else can you consume an appletini in a carved ice martini glass. If you are really brace you can rent a room in there too, as well...More

The ice museum and ice sculptures within are really unique and very beautiful! It's very cold in the museum but they have coats to borrow which are very warm! We enjoyed hearing the stories about the carvings and watching as the staff makes the drink...More

Yes, this is a very goof experience to see the ice sculptures and drink glasses made out of ICE. Very good food. Lots of tourists, so eat an early salad/dinner. 60 miles out of Fairbanks, good road but watch the bumps & dips in the...More

The sculptures are incredible. They offer jackets before you enter the museum in case you didn't bring one or want to stay extra warm. It's pretty cold inside. The apple martini is served in a ice glass for you to keep, very cool. It wasn't...More

Interesting sculptures and more interesting is the way they are done and maintained. It was nice that we had freedom to really look and the coats they provided were warm.

A makeshift hotel where everything is made of ice. It was colder than the outside, and we are talking Alaska here. I think you can actually book to spend the night here. Gorgeous ice sculptures. You can have a martini in a glass made of...More

The ice museum was nice but nothing great. Chena has lots of other great stuff to offer, this was mediocre in my opinion. But, give it a try if you are there.

Definitely a bathing suit for the hot springs, but a coat for the museum. It is cold in the ice museum. As I recall, they do have heavy jackets that you can wear. We went in February so had warm coats and gloves... More

They provide you with winter jackets at the aurora ice museum, so there is no need to bring a parka if you are traveling in june. I would say to be sure to bring a swim suit to the hot springs, and to wear comfortable... More
