Great sign

Loved getting our pic taken at the sign. Helped that it was -36 that day! One I'll remember. Definitely worth the trip to the university

If you want to take a photo with the famous sign showing the temperature, it's at the corner of two streets on the edge of campus... the streets are a bit tricky in Fairbanks because many of them change names after you pass a certain cross street. If you use your GPS to go to the Tesoro gas station at... More

UAF is the place we always go to check the temperature. It is very large compound. They have gas station at the corner and open 24 hours. You can have any convenient gas station food there. If you go up to the hill, on your left, there is a stop sign and small parking area to park your car and wait... More

I went to the university to visit the Alaska Earthquake Information Center in the Geophysical Institute building, and then visited the Museum of the North. Staff was all very cordial and helpful. The campus itself is fabulous with its view of the mountains in the distance. This is truly an academic gem.

The university museum was excellent place to learn more about Alaska - the place, people and history. It is worth the trip and at least a half day to enjoy most of the exhibits.

We had to stop and get the customary picture of the temperature sign. Unfortunately it wasn't 40 below, but it is for the memories.

Just registered my son for College here. The New Student and Parent Orientation programming was wonderful. I felt I received information to help me transition my son to school and me to letting go.

So glad we stopped her. The museum covers everything Alaskan Ggives the tourist idea about the different areas of Alaska as well as a history lesson. Really glad we went there on one of our first days in Alaska. Appreciated the excellent overview
