We took a trip for a couple of hours to Coney Island and stumbled across this little wonder. We saw the 'freak show' which lasts for around an hour, and was full of lovely characters, enthusiastically entertaining us. Everything from the woman with the snake, to a woman being sawn in half, to a lovely midget, to a contortionist and... More

Strange and corky but very Ny. A great stop for a laugh. Interesting entertainers and a cheap date. Small theater and simple seating benches.

We had no clue what we were about to walk into. We came at just the right time, just the right night. As we lost our traveling group, we made sure to keep them updated as we went along. This is some of the updates we sent them: "So far, we have been invited in by numerous lightly dressed women,... More

Went to check out the sideshow while at coney island. The show costs about ten bucks and is in a small room. There were three performers all of who had great energy and really engaged the crowd. There was a man swallowing a sword, a lady dancing with a snake and another guy who would place screws in his nose.... More

It's a old dead side show building but it has character and maybe you will find a guy vending fake cigs.

It is fun to see the sideshows and play the various games along the front of the seashore. One can purchase a one-of-a-kind ices there. I believe it is open seasonally so check before going in the winter. Summertime is the best season to visit.

I would not go out of the way to see this place, unless you find the subject matter fascinating. It would be much more worthwhile if a freak show performance is scheduled for the museum, but unfortunately out timing did not permit this. They had one of those old-school peepshow contraptions that uses stop motion (where you put a penny... More

If you go to coneyisland you really have to go see sideshow or the burlesque shows. The side shows run every day and the burlesque shows are thurs and fri nights. There not really high end but the entertainment is top rate and really worth seeing if you go at night you'll have to deal with the hipsters but that's... More

What an amazing show! Have been there 3 times and it never gets old! Cast members are great entertainers and have true talent. Don't want to describe too much as the mystery is part of the excitement! The show is good for all ages even though tripadvisor.com only allows one choice out of 6.

Though Hurricane Sandy did a number on the building and exhibits, Coney Island Museum has persevered - I took a banner painting class there in the summer of 2013 and it was a life-changing experience! The sideshow was amazing, and I got to see a bit of the instruction in sword-swallowing etc. for those a bit braver than I was.
