This was a nice aquarium, just very small. This is, likely, a better aquarium that is experiencing some set backs due to the recent storms in the east coast. At the time of our visit the attractions that were open were cool there just weren't very many. Our visit took less than an hour.

Though still recovering (as of February 2017) from Superstorm Sandy, the New York Aquarium unambiguously impresses. From the tropical fish of the Glover's Reef exhibit (greeting you right as you enter) to the delightful grace of the California Sea Otters, this is a wonderful place to spend some time appreciating the beauty of the water - and what's under it.... We had a great time regardless of the remodeling and construction of new exhibit. The Sea lion show was the highlight. Can't wait to see what's coming in the new construction,

My boyfriend and I came into NYC for a visit and decided to check out the aquarium, took an hour to get to Coney Island only to find that there was only a small shark tank and 2 sea lions in the outside area and a few fish inside. Not worth the trip or the $11 to enter.

Hurricane Sandy devastated the aquarium and renovations and rebuilding are still in process. Currently there are only some tanks, penguins and sea lions to see. In the cooler weather, the walruses are sometimes "off exhibit". True, the admission price has been reduced to $11.95, and there is a 1/2 hour sea lion show; so if you are already on the... More

It's always nice to visit the aquarium. Bring the whole family. Easy directions and parking available for a fee. Trains go there too.

On a hot day after walking the boarwdalka nd riding the historic rides it is great to be able to go inside to the air conditioned aquarium on the boardwalk. When i was there a few years ago they had Beluga whales and all sorts of other marine life. Basic snack food and fast food also available. Lots of fun... More

They are renovating a new section and hopefully it will be world's apart from current "exhibits" but being that this is NY, IMO it should at least match up to the new aquarium in Toronto. That one is absolutely amazing and leaves you in awe. So when I recently visited this one in Brooklyn, I was so disappointed. The sea... More

Located in Coney Island the NYC Aquarium is one of the best I have ever visited. Great displays and easy to navigate it is a wonderful place to take your family especially of you have young children. Great educational experience.

The aquarium use to be a great place to spend the day prior to being hit by hurricane Sandy. Since then it has reopened but only half the exhibits were open as of the summer of 2016. I would call first before going check to see if all the exhibits are open. From the aquarium it's a quick walk to... More
