The place is small and difficult to enjoy when crowded. The day we went there were a lot of summer camp kids. The sea lions "show" was meh, at least it made longer our stay there. Go only if you're in the area, is not worth to visit all the way from Manhattan to just go there. We went to... More

With a quiet day ahead of us, thought we'd take the hour trip to see the aquarium since we'd never been there before. The entire thing took about 1/2 an hour to see all the exhibits. In addition, there was a 17 minute show (I think it was the only show for the day) which was entertaining but there are... More

I have been to many Aquariums around the world and this is by far the worst. It is small, crowded and not interesting. Do yourself a favor and drive south to the Philadelphia aquarium which is 100 times better. The only good thing about this place is that it is relatively cheap and kids under 3 do not need to... The NY Aquarium is still being renovated. I was very pleased that the price has been reduced, and is much more reasonable. I would say a 2-hr visit is sufficient, and the perfect place to take the kids while in Coney Island. There are tanks to be viewed from inside the building with all sorts of fish. Nearby staff can... Rather sad - it is being renovated and it would probably be better to wait for it to be finished. Best thing was the very short sea lion show, but even this was lacking pazzazz,

This is a nice place to visit once. However, the cost of admission is just way too much. Also, check there website as during the summer, they do have free admission but the line goes all the way to the boardwalk. The show gets full quickly so make sure you arrive early, and it is a must for kids. Honestly... More

Many exhibitions under renovation from hurricane sandy almost three years ago. Not sure what is taking so long. A lot of tanks green. Almost feel bad giving them a bad review as they seem to desperately need funding to rebuild. Some nice tanks inside. Too be fair didn't stay for show as I didn't want to stand outside in hot... A recent trip here with a grandchild was rewarding. I t is nice to go to an aquarium in the city that is a good size for children. Although not as fancy as the Atlanta, Florida, or Baltimore, and other east coast attractions, it affords the chance to have children and grandchildren interact with nature from the seas around them.... We had one day in Brooklyn on our trip to NYC and decided to visit the Aquarium as it would be a nice break from the sweltering heat outside (in the end I got sunburnt anyway!) It's a really nice little aquarium with a competitive ticket price, plus you get two shows included - a live sea lion show and... More

At the moment, the aquarium is under construction so it's not worth visiting. you'll only pay full price to see nothing.
