A fantasic way to learn about the country.

The three of us went on a three hour ride with Joe. We cannot say enough about his quiet sincere way of educating us about horses, apache life and history and edible plants. We had a bit of a communication problem between my husband and Joe. Joe thought there was going to be only one person on the ride. When... More

Had 6 hour ride from home base. Absolutely awesome. Joseph is well educated and a skillful guide. His horses are well trained and are not dude ranch nags. Joseph has the riders spread out on the range to minimize impact on the terrain. The horses are well behaved and respond to rein and knee easily, which allows the rider to... More

Excellent experience. Not for the novice horse riders. There will hardly be any comparable tour where you have the opportunity to enjoy nature and live the life which was common in the past. Just wandering for days in complete remote areas depending on your senses and the agility of the well trained horses. Accompanied by Joe who is guide, compass,... More

If you want the best informative trail ride about the Apache Indians and a new appreciation for the land of New Mexico, WolfHorse Outfitters if the place to go. Joe has an amazing knowledge of the culture and treasures hidden in the land we would have otherwise missed had it not been for his expert skills. We totally enjoyed our... More

We took our grand daughter age 9 on a half day's ride with Joe. We all had a great time. Neither one of us had been on a horse in over 20yrs . Horses were well behaved and Joe was very professional and informative. He took time to explain his heritage and the sites at fort Bayard. Would highly recommend... More

Riding with Joe was an unbelievable experience. Joe's Apache heritage and knowledge made this a fantastic experience. This is anything but a boring trail ride. Joe encourages you to go off on your own (within a reasonable distance) and ride your horse as you wish. I went for a full day but would love to return and ride with Joe... More

We did this tour for the last 7 days. Fantastic experience. Interesting, experiencing, safe perfectly organized. Joe is a passionate guide. His horses are all handsom and it s incredible how they like to work. You also feel the unspoken connection. The best trip we ever did.

Joe Saenz, legendary Apache outfitter and guide, takes you into the Gila Wilderness on his well trained, gentle steeds ("Dancer" is a favorite). He goes off trail, making sure riders don't create new paths. You can reserve as little as four hours or several days. You will see natural wonders and learn about the ancients and their ways of life.... More

We hired Joe Saenz for a full day ride (6 hours) including lunch. There were 3 riders plus Joe. The ride is easy and and the horses are well behaved, but they are not nags. Joe is a very knowledgeable guide. We did not see any wildlife, but we did see a number of petroglyphs and some beautiful scenery. We... More
