Ole Smoky is the first federally licensed moonshine distillery in the state of Tennessee. A visit to Ole Smoky is the true moonshine experience. As you approach the entrance, you can detect the distinct smell of our grains cooking and fermenting. You'll see authentic working moonshine stills and experience the process from beginning to end. Our distillers will take the time to visit with you and answer any questions about the history and lore of moonshining in East Tennessee. After you see, smell and hear about the process, we offer tastings of our Award winning shine! Samples of our Original Unaged Corn Whiskey, White Lightnin' and Moonshine Cherries as well as Apple Pie and Blackberry flavors - plus we offer seasonal and special flavors that aren't available in package stores. And of course, you'll be able to buy plenty of moonshine and Ole Smoky merchandise to take home with you.

Our tasting guide red had us dying laughing the whole time, he provided good details on the shine and even included some pretty elaborate cooking recipes that you could use their shine in. We went back a second time the next day just to see...More

Adding this to the list of "things we must do" when visiting Gatlinburg from now on! Fun atmosphere, delicious moonshines and whiskeys of highly imaginative flavors. Hard liquor isn't my thing, but this is a blast. A few dollars buys you like ten tasters of...More

What a great time tasting all the flavors of moonshine. From apple pie to Christmas eggnog. Yummy Yummy. The staff is great and you can rock on rocking chairs watching a good old country band in front of the store. Great place to experience.

Great atmosphere with bands playing music. Did the moonshine taste sampling and we felt very rushed through the process.

My sisters and I have been there several times. The whiskey is good and they have interesting flavors. The cherries and salty caramel whiskey were winners this year. The staff, like Brian, are always friendly. They offer a military discount and appreciate your visit.

First time in Gatlinburg. Stopped for the tasting...so glad we did! Dalton was very knowledgeable and friendly. Being a Wednesday night it wasn’t very busy and we were able to get personalized service. Ask to try the Cinnamon Toast Crunch mix...mmm!

Enjoyed my first time at Ole smoky moonshine! Unfortunately it is 25 bucks a jar.. pretty expensive for fake shine. The atmosphere was up beat and fun so we enjoyed being there.

I would agree with Ashley T. They do have distilling equipment present, but I have never been present when it was working, if it does. I have taken advantage of the tastings at all three locations.

It’s not really that kind of bar. It’s more like a store with a bar in the middle where you taste the moonshine. However, right outside the store is a bunch if rocking chairs in front of a stage where they play live music.

Yes , they can go in but must be an arms length away from the bar.
