We visited this facility with our son expecting an experience similar to those we have enjoyed at Cape Canaveral and Houston complexes of Nasa. However, this is a very disappointing experience. The visitor centre itself has a few model exhibits of the Hubble and the new James Webb telescopes. There are a few conference rooms, one which has a video... More

This is a nice, small NASA visitors center. But it still worth the trip. You will not need more than one hour. I would not go a great distance out of the way, but if it near where you are, it is definitely worth the visit. There is an IKEA 10 minutes away if you need to do something while... More

Goddard Space center is a remarkable place to visit. DJ was an incredibly enthusiastic and entertaining guide. He spoke a mile a minute but his info was clear and very interesting. We saw the James Webb telescope at the end of construction. It was about to be sent to California next to get the propulsion system and heat shield. The... More

Small museum and gift store. Moon rock. Hubble telescope. Mercury capsule. Apollo capsule. Some weather rockets. Other stuff about outer space. Not an anchor destination unless astronomy or space exploration is your bag. Am glad it is available for young people to get a glimpse of the application of science to analyze and understand the universe.

We really enjoyed our visit here. One quick point: We first stopped at the Goddard Space Flight Center which was the wrong location and went to the Visitor Center, which is a short drive away. The "science on a sphere" exhibit in the back, auditorium section was very cool. A 6 foot sphere shows short videos on many topics of... More

The center is been around for many many years and some of the facilities are very old it is more of a warehouse in most of the areas that I work in so you have to make sure you watch all of your surroundings. I love working here

We finally visited here after several previous trips to the area. You will notice as soon as you enter that you are able to see about 60% of the center from inside the front door. There are many interesting features inside from the Hubble and Webb telescopes to an interactive 3D map of the planets and star systems. There are... More

We had a family outing to Goddard Space Center yesterday (Tuesday). Our party consisted of 5 adults, 1 toddler and a babe in arms. Four of the adults had been to Goddard on multiple occasion when they were younger, the other adult have never been. It was a multi-generational adventure! We arrived soon after they opened at 1000 and were... More

If you are a fan of rockets and other spacecraft, then the Goddard Space Flight Center is a must visit if you are living or visiting the Greenbelt area. Interesting exhibits and time lines of America's exploration of outer space. Terrific spot to take a group of kids on a Saturday afternoon field trip.
