This is an amazing battlefield to visit. There are a lot of monuments and markers that tell about the battle. The visitor center at the battlefield also has a lot to offer.

Great History lesson for children in a fun way! Every person, every child should hear the real stories...and see the artifacts, films and historical lessons that tell what really happened in our nation's struggle for freedom.

Just got your question. Hope this answer isn't too late. I spent about 30 minutes there since I teach US History and the staff was overly accommodating to me. There is a brief film and the outside buildings.

There are no picnic areas in the battlefield park out if respect. What the others here are referring to is called Country Park which is right next to the battlefield. There are short trails between them.

You can call 336-525-3009 and it will start the tour. It also sends you a link to the web site that was a little easier to use.
