This is supposed to be an auspicious place for the wedding couple to have their wedding photo taken. It means happiness station. It's no longer operational but many tourists still visit the place. It's really beautiful and kinda romantic. Had some wonderful photos taken for me and my wifey!

I have been always seen this station featuring in Japanese travelling magazines, it looks very beautiful and romantic. But in actual fact, when I am here in last Autumn, personally felt that it is just a small man-made station and over beautify by words from rest of peoples, beside this that is nothing else. If u want to take wedding... More

Kofuku Station is a non-functioning old station. Kofuku in Japanese means happiness/contentment. Many Japanese used to go there just to buy the ticket just to keep it as a souvenir hoping the name will give happiness/contentment. People get married at that station. Businessmen and others post their business cards on the old waiting room walls and ceilings. There is a... More

Interesting place and idea, but not so special. You can post your own business card and find interesting information for other ppl.

Nice little defunct train station, not un use anymore, but rather picturesque and good for photo taking, especially in winter. Recommend to stop by for photo taking, if one is driving from Obhiro to Kushiro.

I was there in October but too sad it was closed and the station is demolished and making way for new look. Think is due to complete by end 2013, only the small shop is open. Kofuku is a "happiness" station, even is closed for renovation but I just feel happy to be there.

No any convenient shops nearby. Only 2 shops selling souvenir. Check the bus time table before visiting this place. Overall, a place with scenic view but lack of facilities.

Japanese visit this discontinued railway station because the Japanese name 'Kofuku' means 'happiness', but there's nothing to see there except for a couple of old railway carriages.
