The Homestead National Monument is a short few miles off Nebraska Highway 77, but it is a must-see! Extremely well-done visitor center. There is an original homesteader's cabin to view. Take time to watch the movie. It gives both perspectives of the Homesteading Act -...More

Very nice facility displaying midwest history. The displays are nicely presented and the old prairie home on the grounds was very cool. Hard to imagine living in such conditions. Well worth it to stop by and spend and hour or two visiting this attraction.

Homestead National Monument was a great afternoon trip for my boyfriend and I. The museum at the heritage center was really informative and we learned so much about homesteading! We walked the woodland trail. It was very short but a nice walk.

This is a very interesting National Monument. The museum displays were informative and well designed. We learned a lot in a short time about a subject we knew little about.
