Enchanting island - Nami
Aug 2021 • Friends
Nami is and independent island and It brings us to another world on this island. Beautiful in the fall, the vibrant colours from the well landscaped trees, plants flora and fauna. Beautiful in any angles makes beautiful picture postcards.

Many came here for the Kdrama setting which we have no clue or knew about until we saw a worn out poster that many were taking photos with/of.

We're just happy to be strolling this island for a day and enjoying snacks and local food, cafes. Good place to (must) visit with friends or with family.

Direct bus from Myeongdong or longer route by train. Then short ferry trip.

Overnight stay
Mar 2021 • Couples
Arrived about 8pm. The island appears shut down and very quiet. Hotel van shuttle picked Imus up at the ferry terminal and appeared to know of our arrival. We may be the only people in the hotel and although we did manage to catch last call for a drink it looks like bed time here is 9PM. No sign of the crowds so talked about online, at least so far....

Beautiful in Autumn
Oct 2020 • Couples
While the island has some pretty scenery, it is almost always packed to the point where it’s impossible to enjoy it. Have patience as there will be multitudes of individuals and groups posing for that perfect Instagram. So if going for scenery and photography I’d recommend a different place. I do think they’ve done a great job with the infrastructure to help mitigate the crowds. Strolling the island for casual leisure and family time is great, they have a lot there for children. I’d recommend grabbing food on the island. The Hotteok (sweet Korean pancake) is delicious. Zip-lining in is our favorite way to enter. Visiting the nearby Garden of Morning Calm, Petite France, and/or Gangchon Rail Cars would round the day out nicely. I love the sign they added for the Tulip Tree that fell during typhoon Lingling, very comical.

A Very Popular Tourist Attraction Near Seoul
Oct 2019
We went on our own to Nami Island from our hotel in Myeongdong. There are different ways of going to Nami Island. One is to join a bus tour that departs early at Pagoda Park in the morning (8 am) and returns at 1 pm or to Do It Yourself (DIY).
Here is a simple guide to go there:

1. From Myeong-dong Station, take LINE 4 train heading to the direction of Chungmuro Station to get to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station.(Train ticket one way is Won 2,550)

2. When arriving at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, change to LINE 2 and take the train heading towards Sindang Station to get to Wangsimni Station.

3.When arriving at Wangsimni Station, change to JUNGANG LINE and take the train heading towards Cheong-nyangni to get to Mangu Station.

4.When arriving at Mangu Station, change to KYEONGCHUN LINE and take the train heading towards Galmae Station to get to Gapyeong Station, which is our destination.

This train journey from Myeongdong to Gapyeong will cost you KRW2550 (Cash) one way.

It is one of the most visited places in South Korea because of a Korean Drama shot in the island

I love Nami for its beautiful trees with autumn yellow leaves.
Oct 2019
Before and after I came to the island, I had re-watched the series "Winter Sonata". For that, Nami island had never disappointed my expectation. Very peaceful, very beautiful! Pure fresh air from this island will stay in my mind for long.

For nature and k-drama lovers
Nov 2019
Though quite a ride from Seoul, it is a must out-of-town trip.

Hire a van with driver to make the commute comfortable. Drop by Petit France first since it is on the way.

Gets too crowded especially around lunch time. Better eat lunch back at the coast and not here in the island.

Love the trees and the view of the lake. Lots of photo opportunities.

Must go place if you really love nature!
May 2019
I was here a few years back for the autumn season which the fallen leaves were really beautiful and nice! So this time round I decided to drop by Nami Island during Spring and I really loved Nami even during Spring!

Once you have landed at Nami Island from the ferry, you can really feel the spring showers and wind blowing across your face. You can just practically spend the bulk of your time enjoying a slow walk along the tall trees, or to look out for famous sights where Winter Sonata was filmed. But one of the things I like to do over at Nami is to actually head over to the central area where there is a Well like structure. They do sell Red Bean buns which was really tasty, so I recommend heading over to the center area and see if the buns captures your stomach!

You can also rent bikes to cycle around Nami so that could also be another option when you are here. A thing to note is that you might need to take note of the ferry arrival and departure hours as during peak seasons where there are a lot of tourist, it might be challenging for you to get on your ferry. So if you are a time sensitive traveler you might want to factor this in!

Autumn is the best time to visit
Nov 2019
Visited Nami Island during autumn, the autumn foliage is amazing. There are several paths that lead to different trees being planted on the island. scrap any planned path you may have, just go with the flow. Cater more time for the visit to Nami island and do take note of sunset time. the island is boring after sunset.

A must-go place in Seoul
Feb 2020 • Couples
Nami Island is a very beautiful place that I would definitely recommend. There you can walk under the tall trees or stroll along the riverside to enjoy the tranquility. The presence of lovely snowmen and the setting up of fireplaces add warmth to the island, which is especially great in the cold winter with snow fall. There are also wildlife like peacocks and rabbits on the island.

Apart from the beautiful nature, there are also facilities on the island, like a little train, song museum, bicycles, decorations, shops and restaurants, etc. I have tried the Nami sausage with honey mustard sauce which I found it very delicious. It costs ₩3,000 and I think it is worth trying.

Though it takes me 2 hrs to get to the island from city centre by taking the metro, taxi and ferry, I would still highly recommend the place. I am also interested in coming again in future in other seasons like autumn to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
