We had a great couple of hours on the river safari however we soon found out we were charged more than other people at our hotel (3000 LKR per person as opposed to the 1000 LKR pp others were paying) which was a little annoying! If you do this, take small notes with you too as you'll have the chance... More

It's a sham, may be even a scam! Well, to begin with, it's an ordinary boat ride, not a "safari". The boatman neither shared any details about the sights nor pointed towards anything specific during the tour. So in the end we learned nothing. We were promised a one and a half hour ride in the river, with the boat... More

Nice location just near by the madu river, and good food as well. Visit there with few demanding friends and they took care pf every single need of us. Little bit limited parking space but still they will accommodate you to manage it. Enjoyed staying out side table under mangrove.. loved it..

We paid 40 dollars for 2 people and 2 children for an early morning mangrove trip. Terribly overpriced! The boat trip that was supposed to take 2,5 hrs only took 1 hour because we skipped all the commercial stops for which you had to pay extra. Terrible experience

Many of animals - elephants, crocodiles, birds. Is better to go there in the morning. Is nice to see it. I can recommend it

What a wonderful trip! Recommend to everyone coming to Hikkaduwa!!! Knowledgeable tour guides and lots to see. Catch some jellyfish while you are at it but beware of the alligators 😳 Of course INCOMPLETE without the fish pedicure. 😊 Tickly but oh so special.

We stopped in on the way to Hikkaduwa. I was really amazed. The scenery - from the little villages you pass, the jungle, the mangroves to the wildlife - we saw eagles fishing, the fish farm (you can drop your feet in and the fish can nibble on your toes! Just the carp...not the larger fish!). We stopped into a... More

Good boat ride in the backwaters and mangroves. Hour and half and they stop for some fish therapy which we did not do. However, the views are stunning and as the boat meanders into the larger part of the river the islands and the life around it make for superb views. Was told there is an island with 300 families... I am a solo tourist and just went to this place. I didn't have data plan so couldn't check the fair price by visiting this website and ripped off. I paid 6,000 rupee for myself and got one boat. (Well, my driver also got on it so I could say I paid for two people which should be around 4,000... More
