Found this place on Trip Advisor. We wish we would have planned better and stayed in a cabin. This is an amazing place with a good beach area. The water is very clear! It's March and my girls dove in to water! Several people were swimming. There is lots of picnic and play area. There are trails that lead to... More

We took the red path so we could see the 10-foot falls and the smaller one as well. Wear comfy shoes you can hike in, even on the red (easy) trail. Bring water to drink along the way. 4 stars because there could be more benches on the trail. Aside from that, though, this was great family fun to enjoy... More

Trees are starting to bloom. Redbud and Carolina Jasmine are the most obvious at this time. Park is always well maintained and there are plenty of activities for all ages!! Beautiful location and great staff!!

We did the 2 mile loop hike to the waterfalls and back. Many memories made! Beautiful terrain and fun hike with our family! Great picture ops along the way! It was a perfect sunny and 65 degrees. Finished up with a picnic and relaxed before getting on the road to head home after a few days in the hot springs/Little... More

I'm giving this place an Excellent for a special purpose. It is only 12 miles off the interstate. If you are making a long drive down I-30 and have a couple hours, you should go and hike around. It has rocks, some elevation, a lake, a small creek and (some parts of the year) a waterfall. This is the very... More

I hiked here and thought it was lovely. The campground looked nice though some sites face a power plant across the lake. The trail (Fall Branch) to a waterfall is really nice. There are several other trails as well. The lake is very pretty.

We stayed here on our way to another destination, so it was a fairly short trip, but the cabin was really nice and there was some really pretty scenery. The cabin's only fault was there were tons of mosquitos inside although, they actually didn't bother us too much. We did the easier of the hikes and it was plenty challenging... More

The State Park has plenty to offer from boat tours to swimming for the kids. They offer hikes and educational programs. Very well supervised and organized. The people are friendly and helpful.

My husband and I got away for a couples getaway. The staff that works there. Amanda was super sweet. We tent camped. Found a spot. We picked site 19. It had a tent pad. See photos. The only complaint about this was the table looked brand new and not leveled yet. You had to watch yourself. Or you were stepping... More

We loved the trails. Part of the Falls Branch Trail was closed for maintenance but we were still able to hike down to the beautiful waterfall. Total hike was probably around 3 miles. Trails are maintained fairly well and streams trickle along the trails. Very peaceful with lots of trees. Also Lake Catherine has what looks like very nice cabins... More
