Olbrich Gardens is a Madison treasure. Wander through the conservatory or the grounds at all times of the year. A great place for a winter stroll on a warm day. Wonderful to note the change of seasons through the plants and bird life. Special events, classes and a nice gift shop round out the experience.

THis is a ,large free botanical garden with a free garden mobile for those folks with mobility issues which helps everyone feel welcome. A small gift shop is available as well as periodic shows of the creations of Madison area artists. Thailand also has presented the garden with a beautiful gold gilted pavilion that is serenely sitting by a reflecting... More

One of my favorite places in Madison. Sweet conservatory that is a wonderful respite in winter, thoughtful native plantings, an incredible tropical-feeling oasis around the Thai Pavilion, and a remarkable series of collaborations with artists keep this place interesting all year round. Free, and small enough to see everything in a couple of hours--but you'll want to stay longer. I've... More

We just love going here, The varied species of plants is spectacular. Even if you are just looking to take a walk, this is the place. We go in the middle of winter to sit and read in gardens. The fresh green smell is so soothing. Birds flying about makes you fell alive again. Great for the winter blues.

It is a place you can go at any time of year. Even in winter the gardens offer peace and tranquillity just by walking around and obseving the plants trees and other fauna in a winter wonderland. In spring the flowers are gorgeous and fragrant. in summer they have a great rose garden with great aromas.

Beautiful perennial and shrub borders that offer interest in all seasons. Creative container gardens vary from year to year. Wide range of educational programs and workshops. Excellent place to get inspiration in all seasons but particularly in the autumn as they have an extensive ornamental grass collection. The conservatory is a welcome warm destination in winter. Love the birds flitting... More

The indoor gardens are very nice, not very big, but a lot to look at in a small area. It was February, so the outside part had nothing blooming. Would have rated higher if visiting during the summer. Went on a Saturday so it was free. Plus they had a variety of artists craftings for sale.

My wife and I decided to visit the Olbrich Conservatory to see the Orchid Show and Sale sponsored by the local Orchid growing group. To our pleasant surprise we found that the nominal entry fee ($2 per person) was waived on Saturday mornings. The lush tropical and semi-tropical plants plus the warm, humid atmosphere helped to provide a short break... More
