I have lots of childhood memories at this Zoo. It was nice to be able to take my daughter. I noticed all of the changes to the zoo including the water park. It reminds me more of a park with all of the shade trees. The train ride is definitely worth the price.

the different sections were done in themes authentic to the animals of that exhibit. Not a huge zoo, it had almost everything any other zoo would and the way each exhibit was done was really nice. We enjoyed it, but the shuttle driver had done her last run as the zoo was closing, we had just missed it. The security... More

One of the better zoos that we've been to. Currently under going renovation, most exhibits were undisturbed.

I was very surprised to see the quality of the Audubon Zoo. variety of animals and the surrounding and amenities are first rate. What was really good about this zoo is how close you were able to get to see them

I visited the zoo with the expectation of having a good time, but the experience was not even near good... I am aware that this time of the year is not the best for outdoor activities, but the authorities and the staff should have services designed not only for warm weather, but also for cool days as well, for example,... What an Awesome Zoo, took my Mother to New Orleans for Mothers Day and she loved it. The trolleys are $3 for an all day pass and it take you to Audubon Park and the zoo is next to it. The Zoo was one of my mothers favorites besides the swamp tour we went on. If your in NOLA this... More

I have been here before, but it had been 20 years. Now that I have a family of my own, we planned a trip to NOLA, just so we could go to the zoo. We liked the fact that the trolley stops right near where the zoo shuttle picks you up.

Take the St Charles car to the Audubon Park/Tulane stop. Best 1.25 you can spend. Once there, you can walk the park to the zoo, or take the free shuttle that picks up. The zoo is lovely despite the renovations in progress. The large green-space by the reptiles is perfect for a little picnic and some "running around" time. Always... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
