After taking the cemetery tour right behind the church. We decided to go to church mass on Sunday. The mass itself was great. The music was amazing. It was a blend of jazz and gospel hymns. We really enjoyed it even though it was really...More

I read about this church in one of my tour books and after visiting St. Louis cemetery #1 our fabulous guide Bre had informed us that the church was literally a 'drive-thru' with horse and wagons for funerals during such bad illnesses in NOLA. The...More

Awoke this morning wanting to attend my favorite church; The Jesuit on Barrone, but was too late for the earlier masses. Had to make another choice, so I attended 11:30 a.m. service and was surprised by the attendance! The service was filled with joyous voices...More

New Orleans is my hometown yet this was my first visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. It's beautiful and historic. The church building is the oldest surviving church building in New Orleans (all the older churches have since been rebuilt). I really enjoyed the...More

A wonderful old Roman Catholic Church which is frequented by both locals and a few tourists from around the nearby hotels. I enjoyed morning Mass there each day during our visit.

This is a simply but beautifully adorned church devoted to Our Lady. It was good to just sit for awhile in its tranquil atmosphere away from the hubbub of the city. Lots of candles and a very Hispanic influence. Next to the church was a...More

My husband says he found Jesus in a predominately black Catholic Church <3 whatever it takes to get him to go to mass. We often drive 30 minutes from Slidell to go to mass here. Love the services – love the choir.

While this church would not be a destination of places you must see, it is a convenient short stop if you are on the north side of the French quarter or want to take a cemetery tour. It is simple as Catholic churches go but...More
