During our December visit, we took advantage of a lovely Winter day, to stop by Washington Artillery Park, across from Jackson Square. This was a short visit, as we mainly wanted to look down on Jackson Square, and across to St Louis Cathedral, and the...More

We went for the views and got some local history. It is a great place to see the river and Jackson square. It is worth the steps to walk up to see the vantage point. Great place to take pictures of the ST Louis cathedral,...More

Good views of the square and cathedral, but don’t make a special trip. Also watch out for hustlers who ask about your shoes, spray them with soap and aggressively demand money for ‘cleaning’ them. Not pleasant.

Linger a while to catch the breeze and the views. Photograph St Louis cathedral day or night. People watch or see impromptu shows. A must do.

Go during the early evening and catch the sunset while listening to an actual bag-piper. He might not be good, but the piping might relax you. After of which, head down the back stairs and to the Moonwalk (Riverwalk area), and watch as the Mississippi...More

This little park, directly across Decatur St from Jackson Square, and nestled along the Public Belt Railroad, and the RTA Streetcar Riverfront Line. Because of its elevation, it has a commanding view of both Jackson Square, and the River. We were strolling through Woldenberg Park,...More

This has an excellent view of Jackson Square but be cautious of strangers. There were some street hustlers trying to scam me for money and got verbally violent when I politely said no thank you. If they talk about your shoes, don't engage with them.

This "park" is a great photo op in between Jackson Square and the River. Since it's elevated, you have both a cool view looking towards Saint Louis Cathedral as well as a view the other way looking out at the water. There isn't much to...More

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty

across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the

Wow, that is a good question. I would contact the City of New Orleans, to inquire. I have never been married there, but then, it did not exist, when I was married in New Orleans, in 1971. Good luck, Hunt
