Ellis Marsalis, a legend

Heard Ellis Marsalis and his trio in an evening concert. Wonderful, wonderful jazz in the old style. Intimate setting - maybe 40 people at small tables.

We enjoyed dinner, we had the fried filet of fish with creamy creole sauce. The server attempted to get us to change our order to the blackened redfish, we politely declined. He then served us the blackened redfish anyway, which I returned and then waited for what I ordered in the first place. We could hear the music lightly throughout... More

Ate before we saw the show and the food was very good. We saw the Monday night show with one of the Neville Sisters. Wow what a man hater she is. Every song

Do not eat here. We wanted something other than seafood and orders burgers. The burgers are served with a baked potato and not french fries. The food was awful. Go for the music but eat elsewhere.

We walked to this location from our hotel. Spent all our time on Frenchmans street and the Lamothe House told us this was the place for really great jazz. They were right. We were there and able to hear Germaine Bazzle and others play the best jazz I've ever heard. It was truly a special night. If you go no... More

If you want to see where Jazz started then come and watch a living legend put on a school with his every evolving Quartet! This man breathes jazz out of the piano. A must for any Jazz lover! Oh, and the Burgers in the Bistro aren't bad either.

Had a great experience ,both meal and music. Went a little after eight and Lilly was our server. She was great. We had the hamburger and blackened fish. Both were really good. We decided to stay for the ten o'clock show. So glad we did! The guys were awesome. We like the formal sit down over the jammed up standing... More

We went to Snug Harbor to see the Victor Goines Quintet. The performance area is cramped and small, but the absolute best way to hear jazz performers like this. The drummer, Herlin Riley was just amazing. If I lived around here, I would go every week. We had a sandwich at the bar before going in to the performance space.It... More

I settled in for a simple fried chicken dish. I wanted only something simple and tasty, having eaten lavishly for days; I succeeded! Absolutely delicious, with a baked potato. Others who ate more traditional indigenous selections were all more than satisfied. Later, we savored the live music, provided by none other than the daughter of Aaron Neville, Ms. Charmaine Neville... More

We have gone to Snug Harbor for years when in New Orleans. Mostly for the wonderful music in a small venue. Sometimes we go early and have a few drinks, excellent burger and fantastic baked potatoes, before the show. Usually at the bar. We have not appreciated the quality of other food on the menu. This time we ordered shrimp... More
