Address
Neighbourhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

    Love this historical treasure!
It's odd for me to review places on Trip Advisor, but this seemed a logical way to express my love for this very old building. The outside of the structure is very natural, cracks around the backside of the building. They could lose the TVs unless they want to show Star Trek :) I should point out the -address number adds to the yolk. I mean joke. Definitely, the Blacksmith is a place to visit. Riverwalk area may divide your attention, but you can really learn something here.

    Historic & Fun
Visited on a holiday Monday evening and ended up staying for 4+ hours! Live piano started around 9 and turned into karaoke! Very entertaining and fun to watch. Ordered a Sazerac, their signature VooDoo drink (grape), a Hurricane, and some beers. Love the ambience and history of the bar and would definitely recommend for a drink and fun atmosphere.

    Grab a drink at Blacksmith
I grab a hurricane while walking the bourbon street. It was good and strong. Didnt know about the VooDoo until afterwards. I wish I gave that a try. If you want to have a drink on bourbon street you must stop here.

Lafittes for History over the Drank
This is a very popular bar in New Orleans. We had to stop and get the infamous "Purple Drank" - the Voodoo Daquiri. It wasn't really my taste but the bar itself is neat to see. Historically very cool - well preserved from the 1700s. It was quite busy any time we went by though so count yourself lucky if you get a table.

    Best Hurricanes in NOLA
BEST Hurricanes in the city! They make them the way they are supposed to be - no sugary mix (like PO'B)...just booze, booze and more booze! I was in NOLA for work and we had people coming in throughout the week - with each new arrival, we'd bring them to Lafitte's for a legit Hurricane. Everyone loved the drinks, the building and the history of the place. Also, the Voodoo Juice (purple drink) was delicious and deadly!

    Fun and Historic!
Lafitte's is reputed to be the oldest bar in New Orleans. Its from the 1700's a looks it (in a good way). We stopped in twice on a recent trip. The drinks were decent (and strong). On our second visit there was a piano player who made the evening fun. Prices were reasonable (especially for Bourbon Street). We'd go back.

    Amazing Haunted Pirate Bar
We had SO MUCH FUN here! Who doesn’t love a haunted pirate bar?? The drinks, especially the hurricanes and the purple daiquiris, are strong and delicious. There is a piano bar in the back, and that man will literally sing anything for $5. We had him sing Get Low and it was hilarious. There is also a man who plays the washboard along with the piano man. It’s so great. For sure stop here at least once while in NOLA!!!!

    Historic and Fun!
This is a must stop when in New Orleans and we have been there numerous times including during our recent trip to The Big Easy. Wonderful beers and mixed drinks in an historic atmosphere. Expect it to be crowded, but expect it to be fun! There are times when we have been here when it is not too crowded, but the crowd is part of the fun. Grab a seat at a table and enjoy the fun!

    Fun Stop
Historic bar and one of the oldest buildings in NOLA. Gets a lot of tourists and locals as well. There was a piano player that had the crowd going. One of those spots where the bar kind of spills out on to the street. Worth a visit!

    Oldest pub in the US
We had met several people who said this was a pub that we had to go to. It looks nothing special but on the inside it is literally full of stars who have had a drink in the bar over the years. We were told to have the purple daiquiri which tasted like they have anything in them so went back for another and by the end of that I can definitely confirm it does. The bar is full of tourists and locals which is great for people watching. I would definitely recommend going for at least one drink.

This is one of the oldest bars in the states..Walking through is a blast from the past with so many famous and important people coming through over the years..On the side of drinks and service remember it is a tourist stop that many bar crawls stop through..If you want quality there are so many bars all over Nola.

This was stop 2 for our cocktail crawl. The purple drink is the recommended one, but it is disappointing if you expect to feel any buzz after. It is more like a 7-11 slurpee.

0 points. the place is dirty, smells bad and just a nasty staff. We went for drinks and it wasnt crowded so decided to stop here ang it was the worst. The bartender kept ignoring my husband, she literally ignored us the 5 minutes we were there. They're better places with more friendly staff than this one, don't waste your time or money here.

Fast service, cool vibe, great drinks (try the purple drank), and awesome history. Stopped by here while on a tour, and I’m so glad we did!

My wife and I stopped in for drink while walking the French Quarter during the afternoon. We had no problem getting a table. We had been by the previous evening and the place was overflowing with patrons.

It’s a good historical venue for a drink. The bartender was very friendly.
