We visited 2 weeks ago on a 3rd grade field trip and had a GREAT TIME. There are a TON of exhibits!!! I wish we would have had more time to play/learn. We could have easily spent the majority of the day there. We will definitely be going back soon!

This is a great place to visit for a break from the heat if you're here during warmer months. We took our 22 month old and he had the best time! There are so many different exhibits to keep the attention of even the little ones. There was plenty for little ones to do, but I feel like even the... More

Our family had a wonderful time at the children's museum. We are from Jackson Mississippi and if you ask me, our children's museum is better, but our 8 year old said she enjoyed Nola's better. I think I felt like it wasn't as good bc it's not shiny and new, but our almost 3 year old twins and 8 year... More

Young kids will have an awesome time exploring all of the fun exhibits. My child enjoyed the shopping mart, playing cashier and shopper; playing chef in the kitchen; acting as an architect, an optometrist; and playing with the electricity and plumbing connections. The best exhibits are on the second floor. This is a Must Do if you have children. You... More

We spent a day in NOLA prior to a cruise, and decided to explore this museum. Entry is $8.50 each unless you're a member of a museum that has reciprocity (we are). Then you get in for free. They were having a big event about Dr Seuss that day, which made it even more fun. My kids learned about the... More

Good. It seemed that later in the day, many of the displays were a bit scattered. Grocery store employees were very nice.

Even though my daughter was probably a little old for a children's museum, we decided to visit because our membership in our local science center got us into the Louisiana Children's Museum for free. I am really glad that we decided to check it out. My daughter liked it so much, she asked to go back the next day to... More

This place could be so good, just needs management direction, coaching of the staff and attentiveness by them. there were lots of interesting exhibits, the giant bubble machine was amazing, I loved it so did my daughter. But for the money charged it really is bad value. The girl that conducted story time seemed as if she could not finish... More

Spent several hours in this museum. A "must" when visiting New Orleans. Well done with each theatre of operation in separate areas. Not to be missed.

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
