I just peeped in here while exploring the French Quarter. I don't often stay as I am hard to fit (petite) but I tried on clothes, enjoyed looking and chatting with the staff. It is a great store -- wish we had this in San Francisco area! I purchased a wonderful purse and wished I had time (and money) for... More

Wonderful selection, wonderful service and a sense of humor & friendliness from Lisa who assisted me in finding just the right pieces. I can say right now I will be... More

Hoi Polloi means ‘the many’ in Greek. Well shout it out to the masses: There are many many reasons to buy copious amounts of pretty things from the Hoi Polloi Boutique in New Orleans’ French Quarter. I can be a tad verbose so I’ll cut the long list to 3 reasons: 1. The merchandise – unique, beautiful pieces for any... More

I recently visited this boutique in New Orleans and was so taken with the unique product they have. Visitors to New Orleans should not miss an opportunity to see this place. Not only are the accessories fun, but the people who work there are the warmest bunch of folks. Its family run, which is so special. I especially liked their... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
