We walked into the Jamie Hayes gallery this morning in a hurry, looking for a poster tube to carry on the airplane and were happy to find this gem of a gallery. The artwork was colorful, interesting, whimsical and cheery! The salesperson was so helpful, and not only did we buy a tube for $2 to keep our existing art... More

I love the colors and themes of the artwork. You won't be able to stop smiling while visiting and when you look at your piece(s) when you get them home. His music will be fun and lively fo your New Orleans memories I got a wonderful book with the most amazing illustrations for my grandchildren. Whimsical jewelry and sweet fairy... More

I enjoyed browsing the gallery, but truthfully, it is so small that you can see everything in under 20 minutes. There was a work in progress that was drying on one side of the gallery, and the two employees who where there were very informative, but it is tiny.

Delightful place! Not the usual souvenirs but really artistic and fun things for sale. And not very expensive. Try it!

I happened on this shop several years ago, and have since told my friends to go to that freaky little doll shop by Jackson Square when they visit NOLA. It is absolutely charming!! I have bought several things there, including of course, a freaky little doll. Don't miss this fun store. Also, it is appropriate for families.

Not quite my cup of tea but a really nice gallery. Great selection and the prices seem reasonable, just not quite to my taste. Still worth a visit.

Jamie's Gallery is just, well, FUN!!! The colors, characters and designs just pull you into a wonderful, beautiful, fun world! One of my most memorable wanderings-in in NOLA was Jamie Hayes Gallery. He was very friendly (of course - this is New Orleans, y'all), and personalized prints of "Peter the Piano Eater" for my cousin and me. Peter hung above my piano for some time, and he's always got a place with me. I also have "The Smoking Club". I... More

I bought my first Jamie Hayes art in 2012. Made another trip to NOLA in 2014 with my sister-in-law and made a special effort to visit Jamie Hayes gallery again. We Love His Art!!! I have several pieces displayed prominently in my home. So does my SIL. The best part of all I was able to meet Jamie and talk... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
