Non profit tour company. The guide, Don, was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot not only about the cemetery but also New Orleans history. This is a great tour for history buffs! Seriously. Wear a hat/sunglasses and take water.

Our guide was Arthur Smith, a member of Save Our Cemetaries. We chose SOC because a portion of the price went to their organization. These are locals who care about their cities and citizens, alive and deceased! Mr. Smith was witty, knowledgeable and clearly felt...More

The ground is level & the pace is fairly slow. The only aspect I found challenging was the heat. If you go at a cooler time you'd probably be fine. The guides will probably be helpful if you need to take it easy.

Yes, you need a tour. They will not allow you to enter the cemetery without a guide. This is for the safety of the guest and of the cemetery itself.
