We spent about 4 days in New Orleans and this by far one of the best experiences we had. We chose the Esplanade/Avenue of the Creoles Tour. The tour lasted about 3 hours and the guide, Bob, provided plenty of water, rest breaks, and photo ops. This tour encompassed the French Quarter, almost the entire stretch of Esplanade Ave., City... Let me first say that Bob is an old friend of mine. I came down to visit the Crescent City and see what was going on. Bob was kind enough to let me come on his tour of the city. The knowledge of the city Bob has can not be duplicated by many. He truly knows what it is you... More

Took a 3 hour bike tour on Saturday morning of Labor Day week-end. I was not looking forward to getting on a bike after drinking all nite the nite before but it was an amazing trip...I was a bit wobbly at first, it has been over 20 years since I was on an actual bike that could tip over or... The only way to get a real view of New Orleans. My husband and I both admit his bike tour was the best thing we did during our stay. Bob is very knowledgeable and shows you many tourist sites/activities you won't want to miss. We made the mistake of taking his bike tour the last day of our visit and... More

I took this tour my first full day in New Orleans. Bobby was our tour guide. This was a fun way to see New Orleans and the different neighborhoods. Bobby is very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He gave us suggestions on places to eat, where the best music was, he told us the history of the different... More

Both myself and my friend who I was travelling with took part in the 9th Ward tour which was an incredibly good way to both see the city and also the aftermath of Hurricaine Katrina five years on. The gentleman who runs the tour named Bob has a vast knowledge of New Orleans and was able to answer every question... More

I went on the BIg Easy tour of the Ninth Ward, which was about 3 hours. Bob, the proprietor and tour guide, knows so much about New Orleans and provided plenty of historical context as we biked from the French Quarter through Faubourg Marigny and Bywater to the Ninth Ward. The group is small and the pace is easy. Bob... More

We took the 8:00am Esplanade Ave tour on a Sunday morning. Bob was there on time and was ready to go. The tour started out by the Canal St. ferry ramp and took us along the river, through the French quarters, along Esplanade Ave. through a cemetary where Bob explained the reasoning for the above the ground tombs, by many... Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
