If you have come to New Orleans for the French Quarter, a trip to the park is a good mind trip to get n understand as to what is surrounding you. It's across the river from the French Quarter in the Gretna, Marrero area. The bridge you take you see from the French Quarter. Its only abut 20 minutes from... More

I was told that this place is a must do. Having heard that I would encounter poisonous snakes, mosquitos and alligators within close proximity - just a feet away from the trail - I was very sceptical! But it turned out to be a nice activity, with many people on the trail, stopping and spotting the creatures (sometimes too close... More

My family visited here and was impressed with what we saw. The visitor's center was small but helpful. My sons did the Junior Ranger program and my wife and I were happy to see it wasn't too demanding as some sites are. We took the Ranger's advice and started out on the trail behind the visitor's center. We walked two... More

This was my second visit in the last year. My first visit was during the summer on a day that the information center was closed. We were on our own to explore the trails and we did not have our insect repellent (a must have for a summer visit). This time, the weather was much nicer and the mosquitoes weren't... More

We happened upon the museum while wandering the FQ. The courtyard was a nice spot to relax for a bit and the museum has great information about the area and the Mississippi. There were lots of photos accompanying the textual information that kept our kids engaged and a few hands on listening stations. The ranger was knowledgable and eager to... More

This park is gorgeous, you walk in the middle of the bald cypresses and palm trees, flowers of all colors.

A great little oasis in the bustling French Quarter. Quiet, with benches and greenery. Info office is on site

We went on the small airboat tour, it was a blast. Next time we want to go on the large boat to see more of the swamp.

Spent several hours exploring the boardwalk trails through the bayous with our three teenagers. It became a game of who could spot the snakes, lizards and gators first. We saw 20 different snakes and 8-10 Alligators. It was a wonderful way to spend a day enjoying the outdoors, getting fresh air, sunshine and exercise while surrounded by wildlife. Especially for...
