I love this little chocolate shop. I cannot head to this part of town without stopping on Magazine St and popping into Blue Frog Chocolates. These are not cheap chocolates, but well-worth their price. I love picking and choosing individual chocolates from their display case, especially their truffles.

Can you say chocolate overload?!!! While there, the young lady was making white chocolate candies. The place smelled heavenly. They have both dark chocolate and milk chocolate. I love their colorful chocolate flowers!!!

Based on reviews, we made a special trip down Magazine to try the chocolates. The flower candies were amazing, but I did not find anything special about the chocolate and actually think that I have had better chocolate elsewhere.

The staff was very informative and friendly. Samples were delicious. Chocolate artwork! Chocolate covered potato chips were awesome! So much chocolate so little time. It even has other kinds of candy..😍

This neighborhood store was recommended by a native New Orlean, and it was worth the trip to Uptown! Besides the typical and delicious chocolates and candy trinkets they sell beautiful flowers made from chocolate covered nuts and candy, individually wrapped so they last a long time. It's worth going just to see these floral beauties. The owner is a doll!... More

Blue Frog has a great location on Magazine Street. The only parking is a long, narrow one car driveway (which was blocked by a customer) so we parked across the street. The shop is very cute inside with a good layout and easy flow. They have lots of candy to offer. Great variety for any budget.

I stumbled upon this by accident. This chocolate shop was very unique. They had quite a selection of crafted candies and a great frozen hot chocolate selection. The frozen hot chocolate was a delicious treat on a scorching day. The frog chocolates; dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate (colored blue of course!) were great items. We also purchased a... More

Queen Anne from Creole Gardens told us it was her favorite chocolate shop in New Orleans. Made the trip to Magazine street and were so happy we did! We were there in December so were so pleased to find their peppermint topped dark chocolate - the absolute best ever!!

BFC was one of the best places we visited during our week in New Orleans. We could have eaten one of everything but we settled on one Dark Chocolate and one Black Forest truffle. These are giant truffles, shaped like ½ of a large egg. These are one of the best things we have ever eaten. If you find yourself... More

Okay, this place is a little out of the way, but WELL WORTH IT! It's kind of like a little chocolate fairyland. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy the colorful and wonderful Italian chocolate flowers, but I wasn't sure I could keep them intact on the flight home. I settled for indulgent double-dipped malt balls and one of... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
