I was told about this place by a friend from home, so decided to try it while there this time , as I love to try new places all the time, while still going back to my fav's as well. This little place not far from the Quarter, but out of the crowds, is quite a gem, They have the... More

Delicious food! I had the beet salad & filet mignon. Both were great. The atmosphere was comfortable; dim lighting makes for quiet conversation. The staff was kind, the food was incredible. I'll definitely go back.

I was in New Orleans for the 1st time with a group of 18 people from Oregon for a 50th birthday celebration. Several people in our group have either lived in NOLA or visited many many times and with that we had a full schedule of things to see and do. This is the only place that many of us... More

Feelings has been there for many years. A typical Marigny neighborhood larger than usual "hole in the wall, if ambitious restaurant, frequented by nearby residents, home towners, and explorers. It was always a bit seedy, worn at the edges, dark, with a menu that worked - sometimes - but with atmosphere galore. A new wind has blown in off the... More

We fell upon this restaurant on the way to some place else. Peering through the window to see silver and linen and the attractive interior along with the interesting (and not too extensive menu) seemed to be out of context with the quiet, residential neighbourhood. The courtyard setting was romantic in a sophisticated but unpretentious way. The service was warm... More

A delightful courtyard space and a jazz pianist playing mellow background music set the scene for a good night out. Unfortunately that was pretty much where the positive feelings ended. Cocktails to start didn't arrive before the starter did. One of the mains merits a 'poor' rating, the other a 'just about ok'. Desserts were good - especially the blueberry... More

We found the menu at Feelings Cafe to provide delicious options for everyone in our family. The inviting atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Food was good and service was acceptable.

Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and terrific vegan choices on the menu. Do yourself a favor, though, and be non-vegan long enough to try the blueberry bread pudding. One of the best things I've ever eaten.

I read some reviews that stated this was a nice romantic casual spot to dine and at least two ladies said they had a nice anniversary meal here. I don't know if we came on a bad night or what but everything was pretty bad from start to finish here and my husband and I definitely like to give people... More

I recommend this place to ANY who are vegetarians as the owner is of the veggie persuasion he clearly understand the need for something different tasty other then 'bean burgers' and the normal fair. We went here for a nice fine dining choice and were not disappointed!! The atmosphere was nice and quaint with a wonderful little courtyard out the... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
