Zwolferhorn offers a great outdoor activity. We took the cable car up (paid around 17-19 euros per person, but if you have an accomodation nearby you can get a discount) and choose to walk down. There are several paths, we took the route 855 and...More

Cable cars themselves- and the stations- feel in need of some modernising. It is also quite expensive (nearly €50 for two adults return trip). However this is definitely worth doing if you are in the area and have a clear, sunny day. The views at...More

We were lucky and the weather was beautiful, the views stunning and we found a great rocking chair to sit in and enjoy the scenery and sun. Definitely worth a visit and the cable car is easy to find in St Gilgen

Had to wait a couple of days for cloud cover to clear before heading up but so worth the wait. Absolutely stunning views over lakes and mountains. Nice restaurant/bar to have a snack or drink before descending. Walk from station to summit requires a bit...More

We headed up about 2:00, waited for the clouds to clear out at least somewhat. The line took about 15 minutes, very fast moving since the cars run continuously. The views from both angles, headed up and down were breathtaking, complete with cows grazing below....More

It's worth doing this just for the wonderful views of the surrounding area, but obviously needs to be on a good weather day. The cars are very old, but are soon to be replaced. The ride is about 15 minutes, so a long way up....More

We had great views on the way up and planned to go ahead on the pilstein route (1.5 hours, pretty flat) But than a storm came and the cable car stopped. We didn't know when to expect it to start working again. Eventually we made...More

Highly recommended. Excellent reviews of the whole area. If you are passing through would highly recommend a stop over in this location. The cable cars travel much higher than it appears from the bottom and the views from the top are really great.

Beautiful ride, great for kids and amazing views. Check if you have free entrance with the summer card of the region you are staying

Smooth ride, each gondola holds four passengers. On a clear day you can see the surrounding mountains and lakes and the whole of St Gilgen. Excellent value and free wifi at the summit.

Hi, it's a 5-10 minute walk, you will see the cross when you exit the cable car stop, just walk up the steps and then up the hill. Have a great time! The views are magnificent!
