My wife loves coffee and I don't drink it, but we both really enjoyed Mountain Thunder. The free morning tour was educational and informal. Tried three types of coffee and three types of tea. Great stop in the cloud forest! Highly recommend.

What an interesting tour we learnt so much about coffee, coffee plantations and the problems faced by this industry. Gift shop is also worth a visit. The scenery on the way up is simply is parts just breathtaking. You need to enjoy the coffee samples offered, each one is so different

We did the free tour and I was really impressed with the knowledge of the guide and the operation. The tour ended at the gift shop with absolutely no pressure to purchase anything, however, I was excited to try several different roasts only to discover that they were out of everything I wanted.

This was our second visit to Thunder Mountain Coffee. My father did the coffee tour again...my mom, daughter and I opted to play with the cats, dogs and chickens! And, we toured the small gift shop! Here are my thoughts: 1. Staff is friendly. 2. I bought the Kona Coffee Cream ($17) and Kona Coffee Body Wash ($14). The scent... More

Reviews on all the coffee farm tours are pretty mixed on TripAdvisor, some people seem to have expectations that they will see all the action. If you are content to see the plants and the equipment - which will sometimes be in use and sometimes will not -- and aren't expecting to see dozens of field workers picking the crop,... More

My travel partner is in love with coffee so we did make a stop - she did enjoy it. We didn't do the VIP tour however, it was all still quite informative. Perhaps if I was a coffee drinker I would have enjoyed it more. The staff are super friendly.

We stopped for the free tour and it was a nice opportunity to see the various stages of the coffee production, from a coffee "cherry" right off the tree, to the roasted bean. The coffee samples were surprisingly weak - but that seems to be the case everywhere. Tour every 30 min. Not much walking - the coffee tree they... More

This was a nice tour in the rainy rainforest. We learned lots and enjoyed seeing the different steps involved in getting the beans to the consumer.
