Beautiful but should be called "Disappearing Sands"

We stayed right next door to this little beach. It was touted as one of the few white sand beaches on the island. We discovered it is called "Magic Sands" because it pretty... read more

We were really disappointed to find virtually no sand on this beach. The locals said it does disappear in the winter, hence the name. But we still expected enough to enjoy the afternoon but it was not to be.

This beach was close to the house we were renting. It looked nothing like the beautiful picture shown and was mostly rocks and algae. You definitely wouldn't swim here. There were some locals sitting around smoking and another homeless man trying to catch some fish for dinner. There was a lot of trash on the beach and it was generally... More

This beach is seasonal - in the winter months, there is no sand, only higher water and lots of rocks. You are unable to swim there safely, and this is not a good time of year for a safe family visit. Next visit perhaps....

We stayed right next door to this little beach. It was touted as one of the few white sand beaches on the island. We discovered it is called "Magic Sands" because it pretty much disappears with the high water levels in the winter. It is still very beautiful but the sandy area is small and you have to negotiate the... More

It's a great beach and staying somewhere close by is a great perk, but it is always busy - lots of boogie boarders and surfers so we didn't take our little one there with us. (She was only 1 1/2 when we went.) If it's just adults it's a great place to go!

I had been so excited to visit this beach but unfortunately the swells have wiped out a big part of the beach. It doesn't look like many of the photos posted here. Instead, the shoreline is loaded with rocks. I didn't go in to swim as I was just a little nervous with the current and the rocks. I watched... More

After being at a resort all week we were excited to spend a day at the beach with more of a local vibe. The parking was easy and the beach was not terribly busy during the mid-afternoon during the week, though it did start to fill up nearing sunset. The water was extremely rough and the sand has all but... More

We stayed in condos just across the street and ran over to see the sunset but were greeted with marijuana smoke, drunken groups and loud vulgar language.

Small beach with scary big waves for bodysurfing, and smashing yourself on rocks, if you're into that sort of thing.
