should be #1 for big island boat tours!

The guides were knowledgable about conditions and super off-the-path hidden spots, which isn't something you can get on a regular boat tour! They took us out to see mantas (which were enormous!), then to a hidden snorkeling spot. We cruised along the north AND the south coast Kona side. We even caught a few whale breaches nearby! The boat is... More

Second time our family took the WHOA morning adventure around the waters of Kona and Keahou. The ride is the fastest and most exciting trip on the water ever experienced (and I was in the Navy!). The WHOA team took us to seculded spots near shore totally inaccessible otherwise and that the normal dive boats do not frequent. We even... More

My wife and I are both 53 and we have a 15 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. I researched all the whale watching/snorkeling trips available on The Big Island and decided on WHOA! I am so thankful that we did! It was the most amazing experience you will ever have in the Hawaian Islands and nothing... More

This was such a great adventure. The water was a little wild the day we went out but that did not stop us from having an amazing trip. Brett and Paul were out to show us a good time even if the sea was not. The boat ride it self is so much fun. There were only myself and my... More

Darren and Jason did a great job of acquainting us with the boat, what we were going to do and showing us a great time on the water. They were both helpful and educational. Darren knows a lot about the whales. We saw a pod of probably 50 spinner dolphins, a couple bottlenose dolphins, a hammerhead shark and several pairs... More

WHOA uses a former Navy landing craft powered by two jet engines. Even if we didn't see any whales the ride itself would have been worth it. Nonetheless we did see 6 humpback whales - three separate couples. We also saw a school of about 40 spinner dolphins surrounding the boat. On our way back to port we came across... More

Second time on the boat with Deron and Brett. Brett is a great captain and Deron can give you as much information on the animals as you want. The most important thing to me is they make sure the animals are happy to see you before you get in with them. Which keeps them safe and you safe as well.... More

My wife and I did the snorkeling and whale watching combo, and especially enjoyed the snorkeling. We jumped in the water with pilot whales and watched them swim next to and below us. We also snorkeled right next to the Captain Cook Monument, with really clear water, tons of tropical fish and unique coral galore. We saw bits and pieces... More

Did a last minute whale tour while on a trip to Kona and it was amazing. The crew were great, the whales were awe inspiring, and we appeared to be the only boat out there (rough seas? The swells were pretty high and we got a little drenched)! Highly recommended!

If their boat had wings it would fly from the harbor to the whale watch site. The boat ride is half the fun. Went on whale watch only tour. Small fast boat, only 8-10 passengers. There's no seating, instead there are cushioned backrests and a hold bar, similar to a stand-up roller-coaster. We got out to the site quickly and... More
