If you can tune out the modern parts of this setting, you can reach back to another time and another world. I love this place it is magical each time we visit. Morning yoga there at 8AM nearby overlooking the ocean.

Very pretty , but not much to it. You would have had to soaked up the history of it elsewhere before going. There is not much info there. It is unique if you know a bit of the history behind it. It is very cool in its simplicity and what it stood for.

Lovely little beach with hire available including paddle boards. The snorkeling is quite good though it does get deep so be careful. Handy to shops as well, a good place to spend a few hours to all day.

This little beach front is wonderful. I mean it Venus. It hides right behind the Kailua Pier, and is frequented mostly by the King Kamehameha Courtyard Marriot Kona Beach Hotel's.... (*out of breath.. recovering...) guests. On it is a little shack where you can rent snorkel gear, umbrellas, and Stand-Up Paddleboards, which are so much FUN and meditative if you're... More

This white sand beach was especially convenient since it was immediately behind my hotel, the Marriott King Kamehameha Kona. Located just off Ali'i Drive, the beach is between the hotel and the Kailua Pier. If you don't like the sand, you can also rest on the grassy area just behind it. Kamakahonu is protected by the pier and cultural development... More

You get two-fers here with a small but attractive beach right in the town of Kona along with a very interesting historical site, There are picnic table and a very nice restroom. So plan to stay awhile if you wish. If you happen to buy carryout nearby this is a great place to have lunch or a snack.

Nice place to enjoy some relaxing time by the water if you walk in Ali'i Drive Shopping area. You can also snorkel.

I wouldn't drive out of my way to see this, but we were across street to eat at restaurant. Near downtown beach. Was fun to watch long distance swimmers in the harbor. You can view this from distance, but can't have access; it a Hawaiian sacred spot.

Thank Larry R
